Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Twoنموونە

And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18 NKJV).
How can you overcome being tripped up by the temptations of Satan?
Noah walked with God in Genesis chapter 9, but he also stumbled. Why? He had a vineyard, and he drank too much wine. Even a just man can stumble.
In the New Testament, we have a great story both in Matthew 4 and Luke 4 of Jesus. Satan came and hurled at Him three temptations. Each time, the Lord was victorious. He chooses the sword of the Spirit to fend off Satan. The One who identified with mankind was tempted in all points like we yet without sin because He depended upon the Spirit of God and the Word of God.
Employment Point: Overcome temptation by allowing God’s Word and Spirit to control you.

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
