Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him (Psalm 62:5 NKJV).

Are you waiting upon God to provide the right spouse?

Abraham loves his son, Isaac, so he wants to have the right spouse for him. Abraham works toward that end and dispatches his servant to go bring the right kind of wife back for the son. God blessed the activity and faith of Abraham greatly through his servant. When Isaac’s wife-to-be arrives, where do we find Isaac? He’s meditating in the field (Genesis 24:63).

Psalm 62:5 is a verse that will help you in your time of singleness or any time you’re waiting upon God: “My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him”(Psalm 62:5 NKJV). Keep your expectation upon the Lord. Keep busy for the Lord. Let Him, as He brought Eve to Adam, do the same for you.

Employment Point: Wait upon the Lord, for the spouse of His choosing.

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
