Praying From Paul's Letters

DAY 5 OF 13

Put On the Armor of God

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:10, ESV)

Prayer

Almighty God, thank You for the mercy and love You extend to us through Jesus Christ. We are alive in Christ through Your grace. Call forth every gift You have placed in us, to use for Your glory and to uplift Your people. May we complete the good works You planned for us. May we display Your divine craftsmanship.

Strengthen us, Holy Spirit. Empower and embolden us with the breath of Almighty God. Stir our minds and prick our hearts to put on the armor of God, much like we put on our clothes to prepare for the day ahead.

Place in the forefront of our minds that our true enemy is Satan and his demonic forces. Help us to recall with sober mind that Satan is real, and is powerful—but that no one is more powerful than YOU.

Help us, with serious minds, to buckle ourselves with Your truth, and wrap ourselves in the righteousness Christ won for us. Help us step into the shoes that proclaim His gospel of good news. Wherever we walk, help us appeal to people with the message that Jesus saves.

As we secure our shield of faith, bring remembrances of Your sovereign power. We arm ourselves with Christ’s victory and authority, knowing our salvation in Him is firm and unshakable. Our salvation is not our making, but Yours.

Help us carry within us and before us the Word of God. Empower us to speak Your truth over every lie of the enemy. Give us prayerful hearts, led by the Holy Spirit. Lift our heads, for we walk not in our own strength, but in the strength of Yahweh, the great I AM—today and always. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
