God Sanctifies Us

"Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely." (1 Thessalonians 5:23, ESV)

Prayer

Lord Jesus, help us remember, no matter the darkness that surrounds us, You are coming again! All who have faith in You will be caught up together with You forever. May we eagerly look forward to that day and say to each other, “Jesus is coming back for us! Maybe it is today!” Help us to encourage our hearts in You.

Holy Spirit, teach us Your ways. Infuse us with Your Word. Engulf our hearts with love for our Savior. Revive us again this day. Give us wisdom and discernment to warn those who are off track, to encourage those who are downtrodden, and to help those who are hurting. Help us show patience to everyone we may meet. Help us to remember that each person is fighting a battle we do not know.

Let the joy of our salvation bubble over and cascade into the world. Prompt our minds to return to prayer again and again. Give us hearts of thanksgiving for the rich blessings from our Father. If we are awake and breathing, this is God’s first miracle of today, for we cannot cause our heart to beat even one more time. Moment by moment, help us to remember Your great faithfulness.

Purify us, sanctify us, cleanse us. Carve us into the image of Christ, bit by bit and day by day. Protect our hearts and minds. Keep up blameless before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Not by our efforts, but as we lean into You. We can count on You. You are powerful. You are able, Mighty God. You are the One who called us into Your kingdom family. You are the One who will keep us on the narrow path. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
