Christ Is the Mediator Between God and Mankind

"There is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all." (1 Timothy 2:5–6, ESV)

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Your leadership in our lives is a blessing. We are also grateful for the earthly leaders You provide for us. Anoint them to lead with wisdom, truth, and grace.

You desire all people to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. May Your Word and Your Spirit go forth in power this day, opening blind eyes and unstopping deaf ears, so that more people would believe in Jesus as Savior and Lord.

Jesus, how we thank You for all You have done. You are fully God and fully man. You know what it is like to be tempted. Yet You were without sin. You left the glory of heaven in order to walk among us in the flesh. You walked with us in dirt, dust, blood, sweat, and tears. You know our sorrows and have experienced our earthly pain.

Jesus, You did not stand back. You entered into our suffering. You are the suffering Savior.

Only you are fit to mediate between a holy God and a sinful people.

As our Mediator, our Advocate, our Counselor, You paid our ransom. You are like a lawyer in the courtroom who stepped forward and paid the penalty for the guilty one charged with a death sentence. You accepted the just judgment against us so we could go free. Every debt was paid in full with Your precious blood. God’s justice was upheld, and then You poured mercy from the floodgates of heaven upon us—upon any who will believe and call You Lord.

Our Mediator became our Savior and then rose again as KING and Judge. We are in awe of Your great love and mercy toward us. There is none like You! In Your name, Amen.
