So I shepherded the flock marked for slaughter, particularly the oppressed of the flock. Then I took two staffs and called one Favor and the other Union, and I shepherded the flock.

It was revoked on that day, and so the oppressed of the flock who were watching me knew it was the word of the LORD.

So I became the shepherd of the flock doomed to be slaughtered by the sheep traders. And I took two staffs, one I named Favor, the other I named Union. And I tended the sheep.

So it was annulled on that day, and the sheep traders, who were watching me, knew that it was the word of the LORD.

So I cared for the flock intended for slaughter—the flock that was oppressed. Then I took two shepherd’s staffs and named one Favor and the other Union.

That was the end of my covenant with them. The suffering flock was watching me, and they knew that the LORD was speaking through my actions.

So I shepherded the flock intended for slaughter, the oppressed of the flock.  I took two staffs, calling one Favor  and the other Union, and I shepherded the flock.

It was annulled on that day, and so the oppressed of the flock  who were watching me knew that it was the word of the LORD.

And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.

And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.

So I took over from the crass, money-grubbing owners, and shepherded the sheep marked for slaughter. I got myself two shepherd staffs. I named one Lovely and the other Harmony. Then I went to work shepherding the sheep. Within a month I got rid of the corrupt shepherds. I got tired of putting up with them—and they couldn’t stand me.

Then I took the staff named Lovely and broke it across my knee, breaking the beautiful covenant I had made with all the peoples. In one stroke, both staff and covenant were broken. The money-hungry owners saw me do it and knew GOD was behind it.

So I pastured the flock doomed to slaughter, therefore also the afflicted of the flock. And I took for myself two staffs: the one I called Favor, and the other I called Union; so I pastured the flock.

So it was broken on that day, and so the afflicted of the flock who were watching me realized that it was the word of the LORD.

So I [Zechariah] pastured the flock doomed for slaughter, truly [as the name implies] the most miserable of sheep. And I took two [shepherd’s] staffs, the one I called Favor (Grace) and the other I called Union (Bonds); so I pastured the flock.

So the covenant was broken on that day, and thus the most wretched of the flock who were watching me realized that it was the word of the LORD.

So I began to shepherd the flock destined for slaughter, the most afflicted of all the flock. Then I took two staffs, calling one “Pleasantness” and the other “Binders,” and I tended the flock.

So it was annulled that very day, and then the most afflicted of the flock who kept faith with me knew that that was the word of the LORD.
