Romans 8:24
Romans 8:24 Amplified Bible (AMP)
For in this hope we were saved [by faith]. But hope [the object of] which is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he already sees?
Romans 8:22-25 The Message (MSG)
All around us we observe a pregnant creation. The difficult times of pain throughout the world are simply birth pangs. But it’s not only around us; it’s within us. The Spirit of God is arousing us within. We’re also feeling the birth pangs. These sterile and barren bodies of ours are yearning for full deliverance. That is why waiting does not diminish us, any more than waiting diminishes a pregnant mother. We are enlarged in the waiting. We, of course, don’t see what is enlarging us. But the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy.
Romans 8:24 New Living Translation (NLT)
We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it.
Romans 8:24 The Passion Translation (TPT)
For this is the hope of our salvation. But hope means that we must trust and wait for what is still unseen. For why would we need to hope for something we already have?
Romans 8:24 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees?
Romans 8:24 New Century Version (NCV)
We were saved, and we have this hope. If we see what we are waiting for, that is not really hope. People do not hope for something they already have.
