‘I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations.’ ”

I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him. My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him. The enemy will not get the better of him; the wicked will not oppress him. I will crush his foes before him and strike down his adversaries. My faithful love will be with him, and through my name his horn will be exalted. I will set his hand over the sea, his right hand over the rivers. He will call out to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, the Rock my Savior.’ And I will appoint him to be my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth. I will maintain my love to him forever, and my covenant with him will never fail. I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure. “If his sons forsake my law and do not follow my statutes, if they violate my decrees and fail to keep my commands, I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging; but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness. I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered. Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness— and I will not lie to David— that his line will continue forever and his throne endure before me like the sun; it will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky.”

The enemy shall not outwit him; the wicked shall not humble him. I will crush his foes before him and strike down those who hate him. My faithfulness and my steadfast love shall be with him, and in my name shall his horn be exalted. I will set his hand on the sea and his right hand on the rivers. He shall cry to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’ And I will make him the firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth. My steadfast love I will keep for him forever, and my covenant will stand firm for him. I will establish his offspring forever and his throne as the days of the heavens. If his children forsake my law and do not walk according to my rules, if they violate my statutes and do not keep my commandments, then I will punish their transgression with the rod and their iniquity with stripes, but I will not remove from him my steadfast love or be false to my faithfulness. I will not violate my covenant or alter the word that went forth from my lips. Once for all I have sworn by my holiness; I will not lie to David. His offspring shall endure forever, his throne as long as the sun before me. Like the moon it shall be established forever, a faithful witness in the skies.” Selah

I have found my servant David. I have anointed him with my holy oil. I will steady him with my hand; with my powerful arm I will make him strong. His enemies will not defeat him, nor will the wicked overpower him. I will beat down his adversaries before him and destroy those who hate him. My faithfulness and unfailing love will be with him, and by my authority he will grow in power. I will extend his rule over the sea, his dominion over the rivers. And he will call out to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’ I will make him my firstborn son, the mightiest king on earth. I will love him and be kind to him forever; my covenant with him will never end. I will preserve an heir for him; his throne will be as endless as the days of heaven. But if his descendants forsake my instructions and fail to obey my regulations, if they do not obey my decrees and fail to keep my commands, then I will punish their sin with the rod, and their disobedience with beating. But I will never stop loving him nor fail to keep my promise to him. No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back a single word I said. I have sworn an oath to David, and in my holiness I cannot lie: His dynasty will go on forever; his kingdom will endure as the sun. It will be as eternal as the moon, my faithful witness in the sky!” Interlude

I have found David my servant; I have anointed him with my sacred oil.  My hand will always be with him, and my arm will strengthen him.  The enemy will not oppress   him; the wicked will not afflict him.  I will crush his foes before him and strike those who hate him.  My faithfulness and love will be with him, and through my name his horn will be exalted.  I will extend his power to the sea and his right hand to the rivers.  He will call to me, ‘You are my Father,  my God, the rock of my salvation.’  I will also make him my firstborn, greatest of the kings of the earth.  I will always preserve my faithful love for him, and my covenant with him will endure.  I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as heaven lasts.  , If his sons abandon my instruction and do not live by my ordinances,  if they dishonor my statutes and do not keep my commands,  then I will call their rebellion to account with the rod, their iniquity with blows.  But I will not withdraw my faithful love from him or betray my faithfulness.  I will not violate my covenant or change what my lips have said.  Once and for all I have sworn an oath by my holiness; I will not lie to David.  His offspring will continue forever, his throne like the sun before me,  like the moon, established forever, a faithful witness in the sky.”  Selah

If his children forsake my law, And walk not in my judgments; If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments; Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, Nor suffer my faithfulness to fail. My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David. His seed shall endure for ever, And his throne as the sun before me. It shall be established for ever as the moon, And as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.

Your love, GOD, is my song, and I’ll sing it! I’m forever telling everyone how faithful you are. I’ll never quit telling the story of your love— how you built the cosmos and guaranteed everything in it. Your love has always been our lives’ foundation, your fidelity has been the roof over our world. You once said, “I joined forces with my chosen leader, I pledged my word to my servant, David, saying, ‘Everyone descending from you is guaranteed life; I’ll make your rule as solid and lasting as rock.’”

A long time ago you spoke in a vision, you spoke to your faithful beloved: “I’ve crowned a hero, I chose the best I could find; I found David, my servant, poured holy oil on his head, And I’ll keep my hand steadily on him, yes, I’ll stick with him through thick and thin. No enemy will get the best of him, no scoundrel will do him in. I’ll weed out all who oppose him, I’ll clean out all who hate him. I’m with him for good and I’ll love him forever; I’ve set him on high—he’s riding high! I’ve put Ocean in his one hand, River in the other; he’ll call out, ‘Oh, my Father—my God, my Rock of Salvation!’ Yes, I’m setting him apart as the First of the royal line, High King over all of earth’s kings. I’ll preserve him eternally in my love, I’ll faithfully do all I so solemnly promised. I’ll guarantee his family tree and underwrite his rule. If his children refuse to do what I tell them, if they refuse to walk in the way I show them, If they spit on the directions I give them and tear up the rules I post for them— I’ll rub their faces in the dirt of their rebellion and make them face the music. But I’ll never throw them out, never abandon or disown them. Do you think I’d withdraw my holy promise? or take back words I’d already spoken? I’ve given my word, my whole and holy word; do you think I would lie to David? His family tree is here for good, his sovereignty as sure as the sun, Dependable as the phases of the moon, inescapable as weather.”

“I have found My servant David; With My holy oil I have anointed him, With whom My hand will be established; My arm also will strengthen him. “The enemy will not deceive him, Nor will the son of wickedness afflict him. “But I will crush his adversaries before him, And strike those who hate him. “My faithfulness and My favor will be with him, And in My name his horn will be exalted. “I will also place his hand on the sea, And his right hand on the rivers. “He will call to Me, ‘You are my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.’ “I will also make him My firstborn, The highest of the kings of the earth. “I will maintain My favor for him forever, And My covenant shall be confirmed to him. “So I will establish his descendants forever, And his throne as the days of heaven. ¶“If his sons abandon My Law And do not walk in My judgments, If they violate My statutes And do not keep My commandments, Then I will punish their wrongdoing with the rod, And their guilt with afflictions. “But I will not withhold My favor from him, Nor deal falsely in My faithfulness. “I will not violate My covenant, Nor will I alter the utterance of My lips. “Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David. “His descendants shall endure forever, And his throne as the sun before Me. “It shall be established forever like the moon, And a witness in the sky is faithful.” Selah

[Rev 1:5] “My lovingkindness I will keep for him forevermore, And My covenant will be confirmed to him. “His descendants I will establish forever, And his throne [will endure] as the days of heaven. [Is 9:7; Jer 33:14-26; Gal 3:16] ¶“If his children turn away from My law And do not walk in My ordinances, If they break My statutes And do not keep My commandments, Then I will punish their transgression with the rod [of discipline], And [correct] their wickedness with stripes. [2 Sam 7:14] “Nevertheless, I will not break off My lovingkindness from him, Nor allow My faithfulness to fail. “My covenant I will not violate, Nor will I alter the utterance of My lips. “Once [for all] I have sworn by My holiness, [My vow which cannot be violated]; I will not lie to David. “His descendants shall endure forever And his throne [will continue] as the sun before Me. [Is 9:7; Jer 33:14-26; Gal 3:16] “It shall be established forever like the moon, And the witness in the heavens is ever faithful.” [Rev 1:5; 3:14] Selah.

‘I will give you an eternal dynasty and establish your throne throughout future generations.’” (Selah)

I have discovered David, my servant. With my holy oil I have anointed him as king. My hand will support him, and my arm will strengthen him. No enemy will be able to exact tribute from him; a violent oppressor will not be able to humiliate him. I will crush his enemies before him; I will strike down those who hate him. He will experience my faithfulness and loyal love, and by my name he will win victories. I will place his hand over the sea, his right hand over the rivers. He will call out to me, ‘You are my father, my God, and the protector who delivers me.’ I will appoint him to be my firstborn son, the most exalted of the earth’s kings. I will always extend my loyal love to him, and my covenant with him is secure. I will give him an eternal dynasty, and make his throne as enduring as the skies above. If his sons reject my law and disobey my regulations, if they break my rules and do not keep my commandments, I will punish their rebellion by beating them with a club, their sin by inflicting them with bruises. But I will not remove my loyal love from him, nor be unfaithful to my promise. I will not break my covenant or go back on what I promised. Once and for all I have vowed by my own holiness, I will never deceive David. His dynasty will last forever. His throne will endure before me, like the sun, it will remain stable, like the moon, his throne will endure like the skies.” (Selah)
