At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both horse and chariot lie still. It is you alone who are to be feared. Who can stand before you when you are angry?

At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse lay stunned. But you, you are to be feared! Who can stand before you when once your anger is roused?

At the blast of your breath, O God of Jacob, their horses and chariots lay still. No wonder you are greatly feared! Who can stand before you when your anger explodes?

At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both chariot and horse lay still.  And you — you are to be feared.  When you are angry, who can stand before you?

At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep. Thou, even thou, art to be feared: And who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?

At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both the chariot and horse were cast into a dead sleep. You, Yourself, are to be feared; And who may stand in Your presence When once You are angry?

Oh, how bright you shine! Outshining their huge piles of loot! The warriors were plundered and left there impotent. And now there’s nothing to them, nothing to show for their swagger and threats. Your sudden roar, God of Jacob, knocked the wind out of horse and rider. Fierce you are, and fearsome! Who can stand up to your rising anger? From heaven you thunder judgment; earth falls to her knees and holds her breath. God stands tall and makes things right, he saves all the wretched on earth. Instead of smoldering rage—God-praise! All that sputtering rage—now a garland for God!

At Your rebuke, God of Jacob, Both rider and horse were cast into a dead sleep. You, You indeed are to be feared, And who may stand in Your presence, once You are angry?

At the sound of your battle cry, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse “fell asleep.” You are awesome! Yes, you! Who can withstand your intense anger?
