Psalms 76:4-6
Psalms 76:4-6 The Message (MSG)
Oh, how bright you shine! Outshining their huge piles of loot! The warriors were plundered and left there impotent. And now there’s nothing to them, nothing to show for their swagger and threats. Your sudden roar, God of Jacob, knocked the wind out of horse and rider.
Psalms 76:4-6 King James Version (KJV)
Thou art more glorious and excellent Than the mountains of prey. The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: And none of the men of might have found their hands. At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
Psalms 76:4-6 New Living Translation (NLT)
You are glorious and more majestic than the everlasting mountains. Our boldest enemies have been plundered. They lie before us in the sleep of death. No warrior could lift a hand against us. At the blast of your breath, O God of Jacob, their horses and chariots lay still.
Psalms 76:4-6 English Standard Version 2016 (ESV)
Glorious are you, more majestic than the mountains full of prey. The stouthearted were stripped of their spoil; they sank into sleep; all the men of war were unable to use their hands. At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse lay stunned.
Psalms 76:4-6 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
You are resplendent, More majestic than the mountains of prey. The stouthearted were plundered, They sank into sleep; And none of the warriors could use his hands. At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both rider and horse were cast into a dead sleep.
Psalms 76:4-6 New Century Version (NCV)
God, how wonderful you are! You are more splendid than the hills full of animals. The brave soldiers were stripped as they lay asleep in death. Not one warrior had the strength to stop it. God of Jacob, when you spoke strongly, horses and riders fell dead.
Psalms 76:4-6 American Standard Version (ASV)
Glorious art thou and excellent, From the mountains of prey. The stouthearted are made a spoil, They have slept their sleep; And none of the men of might have found their hands. At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
Psalms 76:4-6 New International Version (NIV)
You are radiant with light, more majestic than mountains rich with game. The valiant lie plundered, they sleep their last sleep; not one of the warriors can lift his hands. At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both horse and chariot lie still.
Psalms 76:4-6 New King James Version (NKJV)
You are more glorious and excellent Than the mountains of prey. The stouthearted were plundered; They have sunk into their sleep; And none of the mighty men have found the use of their hands. At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both the chariot and horse were cast into a dead sleep.
Psalms 76:4-6 Amplified Bible (AMP)
¶You are glorious and resplendent, More majestic than the mountains of prey. The stouthearted have been stripped of their spoil, They have slept the sleep [of death]; And none of the warriors could use his hands. At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both rider and horse were cast into a dead sleep [of death]. [Ex 15:1, 21; Nah 2:13; Zech 12:4]
Psalms 76:4-6 The Passion Translation (TPT)
God, you are so resplendent and radiant! Your majesty shines from your everlasting mountain. Nothing could be compared to you in glory! Even the mightiest of men have been paralyzed by your presence. They were so stunned and lifeless, not even the strongest one could lift a hand. When Jacob’s God roared his rebuke, soldiers and their steeds all fell to the ground, stunned and lying still.
