God is renowned in Judah; in Israel his name is great. His tent is in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion. There he broke the flashing arrows, the shields and the swords, the weapons of war. You are radiant with light, more majestic than mountains rich with game. The valiant lie plundered, they sleep their last sleep; not one of the warriors can lift his hands. At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both horse and chariot lie still. It is you alone who are to be feared. Who can stand before you when you are angry? From heaven you pronounced judgment, and the land feared and was quiet— when you, God, rose up to judge, to save all the afflicted of the land. Surely your wrath against mankind brings you praise, and the survivors of your wrath are restrained. Make vows to the LORD your God and fulfill them; let all the neighboring lands bring gifts to the One to be feared. He breaks the spirit of rulers; he is feared by the kings of the earth.

The stouthearted were stripped of their spoil; they sank into sleep; all the men of war were unable to use their hands. At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse lay stunned. But you, you are to be feared! Who can stand before you when once your anger is roused? From the heavens you uttered judgment; the earth feared and was still, when God arose to establish judgment, to save all the humble of the earth. Selah Surely the wrath of man shall praise you; the remnant of wrath you will put on like a belt. Make your vows to the LORD your God and perform them; let all around him bring gifts to him who is to be feared, who cuts off the spirit of princes, who is to be feared by the kings of the earth.

God is honored in Judah; his name is great in Israel. Jerusalem is where he lives; Mount Zion is his home. There he has broken the fiery arrows of the enemy, the shields and swords and weapons of war. Interlude You are glorious and more majestic than the everlasting mountains. Our boldest enemies have been plundered. They lie before us in the sleep of death. No warrior could lift a hand against us. At the blast of your breath, O God of Jacob, their horses and chariots lay still. No wonder you are greatly feared! Who can stand before you when your anger explodes? From heaven you sentenced your enemies; the earth trembled and stood silent before you. You stand up to judge those who do evil, O God, and to rescue the oppressed of the earth. Interlude Human defiance only enhances your glory, for you use it as a weapon. Make vows to the LORD your God, and keep them. Let everyone bring tribute to the Awesome One. For he breaks the pride of princes, and the kings of the earth fear him.

None of the warriors was able to lift a hand.  At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both chariot and horse lay still.  And you — you are to be feared.  When you are angry, who can stand before you?  From heaven you pronounced judgment. The earth feared and grew quiet  when God rose up to judge and to save all the lowly of the earth.  Selah Even human wrath will praise you; you will clothe yourself with the wrath that remains.  , Make and keep your vows to the  LORD your God;  let all who are around him bring tribute to the awe-inspiring one.  , He humbles the spirit of leaders; he is feared by the kings of the earth.

Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: Let all that be round about him Bring presents unto him that ought to be feared. He shall cut off the spirit of princes: He is terrible to the kings of the earth.

Make vows to the LORD your God, and pay them; Let all who are around Him bring presents to Him who ought to be feared. He shall cut off the spirit of princes; He is awesome to the kings of the earth.

God is well-known in Judah; in Israel, he’s a household name. He keeps a house in Salem, his own suite of rooms in Zion. That’s where, using arrows for kindling, he made a bonfire of weapons of war. Oh, how bright you shine! Outshining their huge piles of loot! The warriors were plundered and left there impotent. And now there’s nothing to them, nothing to show for their swagger and threats. Your sudden roar, God of Jacob, knocked the wind out of horse and rider. Fierce you are, and fearsome! Who can stand up to your rising anger? From heaven you thunder judgment; earth falls to her knees and holds her breath. God stands tall and makes things right, he saves all the wretched on earth. Instead of smoldering rage—God-praise! All that sputtering rage—now a garland for God! Do for GOD what you said you’d do— he is, after all, your God. Let everyone in town bring offerings to the One Who Watches our every move. Nobody gets by with anything, no one plays fast and loose with him.

For the wrath of man shall praise You; With a remnant of wrath You will clothe and arm Yourself. ¶Make vows to the LORD your God and fulfill them; Let all who are around Him bring gifts to Him who is to be feared [with awe-inspired reverence]. He will cut off the spirit of princes; He is awesome and feared by the kings of the earth.

God has revealed himself in Judah; in Israel his reputation is great. He lives in Salem; he dwells in Zion. There he shattered the arrows, the shield, the sword, and the rest of the weapons of war. (Selah) You shine brightly and reveal your majesty, as you descend from the hills where you killed your prey. The bravehearted were plundered; they “fell asleep.” All the warriors were helpless. At the sound of your battle cry, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse “fell asleep.” You are awesome! Yes, you! Who can withstand your intense anger? From heaven you announced what their punishment would be. The earth was afraid and silent when God arose to execute judgment, and to deliver all the oppressed of the earth. (Selah) Certainly your angry judgment upon men will bring you praise; you reveal your anger in full measure. Make vows to the LORD your God and repay them! Let all those who surround him bring tribute to the awesome one! He humbles princes; the kings of the earth regard him as awesome.
