Oh, blessed be GOD! He didn’t go off and leave us. He didn’t abandon us defenseless, helpless as a rabbit in a pack of snarling dogs. We’ve flown free from their fangs, free of their traps, free as a bird. Their grip is broken; we’re free as a bird in flight.

Blessed be the LORD, Who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: The snare is broken, and we are escaped.

Blessed be the LORD, Who has not given us to be torn by their teeth. Our soul has escaped as a bird out of the snare of the trapper; The snare is broken and we have escaped.

Praise the LORD, who did not let them chew us up. We escaped like a bird from the hunter’s trap. The trap broke, and we escaped.

We can praise God over and over that he never left us! God wouldn’t allow the terror of our enemies to defeat us. We are free from the hunter’s trap; their snare is broken and we have escaped!
