Psalms 104:15-23
Psalms 104:14-23 The Message (MSG)
Oh yes, God brings grain from the land, wine to make people happy, Their faces glowing with health, a people well-fed and hearty. GOD’s trees are well-watered— the Lebanon cedars he planted. Birds build their nests in those trees; look—the stork at home in the treetop. Mountain goats climb about the cliffs; badgers burrow among the rocks. The moon keeps track of the seasons, the sun is in charge of each day. When it’s dark and night takes over, all the forest creatures come out. The young lions roar for their prey, clamoring to God for their supper. When the sun comes up, they vanish, lazily stretched out in their dens. Meanwhile, men and women go out to work, busy at their jobs until evening.
Psalms 104:15-23 King James Version (KJV)
And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, And oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart. The trees of the LORD are full of sap; The cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted; Where the birds make their nests: As for the stork, the fir trees are her house. The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; And the rocks for the conies. He appointed the moon for seasons: The sun knoweth his going down. Thou makest darkness, and it is night: Wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth. The young lions roar after their prey, And seek their meat from God. The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, And lay them down in their dens. Man goeth forth unto his work And to his labour until the evening.
Psalms 104:15-23 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
And wine which makes man’s heart glad, So that he may make his face glisten with oil, And food which sustains man’s heart. The trees of the LORD drink their fill, The cedars of Lebanon which He planted, Where the birds build their nests, And the stork, whose home is the fir trees. The high mountains are for the wild goats; The cliffs are a refuge for the shephanim. He made the moon for the seasons; The sun knows the place of its setting. You appoint darkness and it becomes night, In which all the beasts of the forest prowl about. The young lions roar after their prey And seek their food from God. When the sun rises they withdraw And lie down in their dens. Man goes forth to his work And to his labor until evening.
Psalms 104:15-23 New Century Version (NCV)
You give us wine that makes happy hearts and olive oil that makes our faces shine. You give us bread that gives us strength. The LORD’s trees have plenty of water; they are the cedars of Lebanon, which he planted. The birds make their nests there; the stork’s home is in the fir trees. The high mountains belong to the wild goats. The rocks are hiding places for the badgers. You made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun always knows when to set. You make it dark, and it becomes night. Then all the wild animals creep around. The lions roar as they attack. They look to God for food. When the sun rises, they leave and go back to their dens to lie down. Then people go to work and work until evening.
Psalms 104:15-23 American Standard Version (ASV)
And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, And oil to make his face to shine, And bread that strengtheneth man’s heart. The trees of Jehovah are filled with moisture, The cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted; Where the birds make their nests: As for the stork, the fir-trees are her house. The high mountains are for the wild goats; The rocks are a refuge for the conies. He appointed the moon for seasons: The sun knoweth his going down. Thou makest darkness, and it is night, Wherein all the beasts of the forest creep forth. The young lions roar after their prey, And seek their food from God. The sun ariseth, they get them away, And lay them down in their dens. Man goeth forth unto his work And to his labor until the evening.
Psalms 104:15-23 New International Version (NIV)
wine that gladdens human hearts, oil to make their faces shine, and bread that sustains their hearts. The trees of the LORD are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted. There the birds make their nests; the stork has its home in the junipers. The high mountains belong to the wild goats; the crags are a refuge for the hyrax. He made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down. You bring darkness, it becomes night, and all the beasts of the forest prowl. The lions roar for their prey and seek their food from God. The sun rises, and they steal away; they return and lie down in their dens. Then people go out to their work, to their labor until evening.
Psalms 104:15-23 New King James Version (NKJV)

Psalms 104:15-23 Amplified Bible (AMP)
And wine which makes the heart of man glad, So that he may make his face glisten with oil, And bread to sustain and strengthen man’s heart. The trees of the LORD drink their fill, The cedars of Lebanon which He has planted, Where the birds make their nests; As for the stork, the fir trees are her house. ¶The high mountains are for the wild goats; The rocks are a refuge for the shephanim. He made the moon for the seasons; The sun knows the [exact] place of its setting. You [O LORD] make darkness and it becomes night, In which prowls about every wild beast of the forest. The young lions roar after their prey And seek their food from God. When the sun arises, they withdraw And lie down in their dens. Man goes out to his work And remains at his labor until evening.
Psalms 104:15-23 New Living Translation (NLT)
wine to make them glad, olive oil to soothe their skin, and bread to give them strength. The trees of the LORD are well cared for— the cedars of Lebanon that he planted. There the birds make their nests, and the storks make their homes in the cypresses. High in the mountains live the wild goats, and the rocks form a refuge for the hyraxes. You made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to set. You send the darkness, and it becomes night, when all the forest animals prowl about. Then the young lions roar for their prey, stalking the food provided by God. At dawn they slink back into their dens to rest. Then people go off to their work, where they labor until evening.
Psalms 104:15-23 The Passion Translation (TPT)
You provide sweet wine to gladden hearts. You give us daily bread to sustain life, giving us glowing health for our bodies. The trees of the Lord drink until they’re satisfied. Lebanon’s lofty trees stand tall right where you planted them. Within their branches you provide for birds a place to build their nests; even herons find a home in the cypress trees. You make the high mountains a home for wild goats and the rocky crag where the rock badgers burrow. You made the moon to mark the months and the sun to measure the days. You turn off the light and it becomes night, and all the beasts of the forest come out to prowl. The mighty lions roar for their dinner, but it’s you, God, who feeds them all. At sunrise they slink back to their dens to crouch down in the shadows. Then man goes out to his labor and toil, working from dawn to dusk.

In them the birds build their nests; the stork has her home in the fir trees. The high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers. He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting. You make darkness, and it is night, when all the beasts of the forest creep about.
