yet you Kenites will be destroyed when Ashur takes you captive.” Then he spoke his message: “Alas! Who can live when God does this? Ships will come from the shores of Cyprus; they will subdue Ashur and Eber, but they too will come to ruin.”

Nevertheless, Kain shall be burned when Asshur takes you away captive.” And he took up his discourse and said, “Alas, who shall live when God does this? But ships shall come from Kittim and shall afflict Asshur and Eber; and he too shall come to utter destruction.”

But the Kenites will be destroyed when Assyria takes you captive.” Balaam concluded his messages by saying: “Alas, who can survive unless God has willed it? Ships will come from the coasts of Cyprus; they will oppress Assyria and afflict Eber, but they, too, will be utterly destroyed.”

Kain will be destroyed when Asshur takes you captive. Once more he proclaimed his poem: Ah, who can live when God does this? Ships will come from the coast of Kittim;  they will carry out raids against Asshur and Eber,  but they too will come to destruction.

Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted, Until Asshur shall carry thee away captive. And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this! And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, And shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, And he also shall perish for ever.

Nevertheless Kain shall be burned. How long until Asshur carries you away captive?” Then he took up his oracle and said: “Alas! Who shall live when God does this? But ships shall come from the coasts of Cyprus, And they shall afflict Asshur and afflict Eber, And so shall Amalek, until he perishes.”

He saw the Kenites and delivered his oracle-message to them: Your home is in a nice secure place, like a nest high on the face of a cliff. Still, you Kenites will look stupid when Asshur takes you prisoner. * * * Balaam spoke his final oracle-message

“Nevertheless Kain will suffer devastation; How long will Asshur keep you captive?” Then he took up his discourse and said, “Oh, who can live unless God has ordained it? “But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim, And they shall oppress Asshur and oppress Eber; So they also will come to destruction.”

“Nevertheless the Kenites will be consumed. How long will Asshur (Assyria) keep you (Israel) captive?” Then he took up his [seventh] discourse (oracle) and said: “Alas, who can live unless God has ordained it? “But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim, And shall afflict Asshur (Assyria) and Eber; So they (the victors) also will come to destruction.”

Nevertheless the Kenite will be consumed. How long will Asshur take you away captive?” Then he uttered this oracle: “O, who will survive when God does this! Ships will come from the coast of Kittim, and will afflict Asshur, and will afflict Eber, and he will also perish forever.”
