They tried to end my life in a pit and threw stones at me; the waters closed over my head, and I thought I was about to perish. I called on your name, LORD, from the depths of the pit. You heard my plea: “Do not close your ears to my cry for relief.”

they flung me alive into the pit and cast stones on me; water closed over my head; I said, ‘I am lost.’ “I called on your name, O LORD, from the depths of the pit; you heard my plea, ‘Do not close your ear to my cry for help!’

They threw me into a pit and dropped stones on me. The water rose over my head, and I cried out, “This is the end!” But I called on your name, LORD, from deep within the pit. You heard me when I cried, “Listen to my pleading! Hear my cry for help!”

They smothered my life in   a pit  and threw stones on me. Water flooded over my head,  and I thought, “I’m going to die! ”  I called on your name,  LORD, from the depths of the pit. You heard my plea: Do not ignore my cry for relief.

They have cut off my life in the dungeon, And cast a stone upon me. Waters flowed over mine head; Then I said, I am cut off. I called upon thy name, O LORD, Out of the low dungeon. Thou hast heard my voice: Hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.

They silenced my life in the pit And threw stones at me. The waters flowed over my head; I said, “I am cut off!” I called on Your name, O LORD, From the lowest pit. You have heard my voice: “Do not hide Your ear From my sighing, from my cry for help.”

“Enemies with no reason to be enemies hunted me down like a bird. They threw me into a pit, then pelted me with stones. Then the rains came and filled the pit. The water rose over my head. I said, ‘It’s all over.’ “I called out your name, O GOD, called from the bottom of the pit. You listened when I called out, ‘Don’t shut your ears! Get me out of here! Save me!’ You came close when I called out. You said, ‘It’s going to be all right.’

They have silenced me in the pit And have thrown stones on me. Waters flowed over my head; I said, “I am cut off!” I called on Your name, LORD, Out of the lowest pit. You have heard my voice, “Do not cover Your ear from my plea for relief, From my cry for help.”

They silenced me in the pit And placed a stone over me. [Jer 38] The waters ran down on my head; I said, “I am cut off (destroyed)!” I called on Your name, O LORD, Out of the lowest pit. [Jer 38:6] You have heard my voice, “Do not hide Your ear from my prayer for relief, From my cry for help.”

They shut me up in a pit and threw stones at me. The waters closed over my head; I thought I was about to die. ק (Qof) I have called on your name, O LORD, from the deepest pit. You heard my plea: “Do not close your ears to my cry for relief!”
