John 18:8-9
John 18:8-9 The Message (MSG)
“I told you,” said Jesus, “that’s me. I’m the one. So if it’s me you’re after, let these others go.” (This validated the words in his prayer, “I didn’t lose one of those you gave.”)
John 18:8-9 King James Version (KJV)
Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way: that the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.
John 18:8-9 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Jesus answered, “I told you that I am He; so if you seek Me, let these go their way,” to fulfill the word which He spoke, “Of those whom You have given Me I lost not one.”
John 18:8-9 New Century Version (NCV)
“I told you that I am he,” Jesus said. “So if you are looking for me, let the others go.” This happened so that the words Jesus said before would come true: “I have not lost any of the ones you gave me.”
John 18:8-9 American Standard Version (ASV)
Jesus answered, I told you that I am he; if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way: that the word might be fulfilled which he spake, Of those whom thou hast given me I lost not one.
John 18:8-9 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus answered, “I told you that I am he. If you are looking for me, then let these men go.” This happened so that the words he had spoken would be fulfilled: “I have not lost one of those you gave me.”
John 18:8-9 New King James Version (NKJV)
Jesus answered, “I have told you that I am He. Therefore, if you seek Me, let these go their way,” that the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, “Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.”
John 18:8-9 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Jesus answered, “I told you that I am He; so if you want Me, let these men go on their way.” This was to fulfill and verify the words He had spoken, “Of those whom You have given Me, I have not lost even one.” [John 6:39; 17:12]
John 18:8-9 New Living Translation (NLT)
“I told you that I AM he,” Jesus said. “And since I am the one you want, let these others go.” He did this to fulfill his own statement: “I did not lose a single one of those you have given me.”
