Then the prophet Hananiah took the yoke off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah and broke it

“Go and tell Hananiah, ‘This is what the LORD says: You have broken a wooden yoke, but in its place you will get a yoke of iron.

Then the prophet Hananiah took the yoke-bars from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet and broke them.

“Go, tell Hananiah, ‘Thus says the LORD: You have broken wooden bars, but you have made in their place bars of iron.

Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke off Jeremiah’s neck and broke it in pieces.

“Go and tell Hananiah, ‘This is what the LORD says: You have broken a wooden yoke, but you have replaced it with a yoke of iron.

The prophet Hananiah then took the yoke bar from the neck of the prophet Jeremiah and broke it.

“Go say to Hananiah, ‘This is what the LORD says: You broke a wooden yoke bar, but in its place you will make an iron yoke bar.

Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from off the prophet Jeremiah's neck, and brake it.

Go and tell Hananiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Thou hast broken the yokes of wood; but thou shalt make for them yokes of iron.

Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck and broke it.

“Go and tell Hananiah, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD: “You have broken the yokes of wood, but you have made in their place yokes of iron.”

At that, Hananiah grabbed the yoke from Jeremiah’s shoulders and smashed it. And then he addressed the people: “This is GOD’s Message: In just this way I will smash the yoke of the king of Babylon and get him off the neck of all the nations—and within two years.” Jeremiah walked out.

Later, sometime after Hananiah had smashed the yoke from off his shoulders, Jeremiah received this Message from GOD: “Go back to Hananiah and tell him, ‘This is GOD’s Message: You smashed the wooden yoke-bars; now you’ve got iron yoke-bars. This is a Message from GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies, Israel’s own God: I’ve put an iron yoke on all these nations. They’re harnessed to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. They’ll do just what he tells them. Why, I’m even putting him in charge of the wild animals.’”

Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet and broke it.

“Go and speak to Hananiah, saying, ‘This is what the LORD says: “You have broken the yokes of wood, but in their place you have made yokes of iron.”

Then Hananiah the [false] prophet took the yoke off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah and smashed it.

“Go and tell Hananiah, ‘The LORD says this, “You have broken yokes of wood, but you have made in their place bars of iron.”

The prophet Hananiah then took the yoke off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck and broke it.

“Go and tell Hananiah that the LORD says, ‘You have indeed broken the wooden yoke. But you have only succeeded in replacing it with an iron one!
