The LORD was with the men of Judah. They took possession of the hill country, but they were unable to drive the people from the plains, because they had chariots fitted with iron.

The Amorites confined the Danites to the hill country, not allowing them to come down into the plain.

And the LORD was with Judah, and he took possession of the hill country, but he could not drive out the inhabitants of the plain because they had chariots of iron.

The Amorites pressed the people of Dan back into the hill country, for they did not allow them to come down to the plain.

The LORD was with the people of Judah, and they took possession of the hill country. But they failed to drive out the people living in the plains, who had iron chariots.

As for the tribe of Dan, the Amorites forced them back into the hill country and would not let them come down into the plains.

The LORD was with  Judah and enabled them to take possession of the hill country, but they could not drive out  the people who were living in the plain because those people had iron chariots.

The Amorites  forced the Danites into the hill country and did not allow them to go down into the valley.

But Judah didn’t manage to capture Gaza, Ashkelon, and Ekron with their territories. GOD was certainly with Judah in that they took over the hill country. But they couldn’t oust the people on the plain because they had iron chariots.

The Amorites pushed the people of Dan up into the hills and wouldn’t let them down on the plains. The Amorites stubbornly continued to live in Mount Heres, Aijalon, and Shaalbim. But when the house of Joseph got the upper hand, they were put to forced labor.

Now the LORD was with Judah, and they took possession of the hill country; but they could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had iron chariots.

Then the Amorites forced the sons of Dan into the hill country, for they did not allow them to come down to the valley

The LORD was with Judah, and [the tribe of] Judah took possession of the hill country, but they could not dispossess and drive out those inhabiting the valley because they had iron chariots.
