Judges 1:18-19
Judges 1:18-19 The Message (MSG)
But Judah didn’t manage to capture Gaza, Ashkelon, and Ekron with their territories. GOD was certainly with Judah in that they took over the hill country. But they couldn’t oust the people on the plain because they had iron chariots.
Judges 1:18-19 King James Version (KJV)
Also Judah took Gaza with the coast thereof, and Askelon with the coast thereof, and Ekron with the coast thereof. And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

The men of Judah captured Gaza, Ashkelon, Ekron, and the territories surrounding each of these cities. YAHWEH’s presence and power were with the men of Judah and they were able to conquer the hill country, but because the people of the lowlands had war chariots, they failed to drive them out.
