So when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe—the ornate robe he was wearing

They took the ornate robe back to their father and said, “We found this. Examine it to see whether it is your son’s robe.”

So when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe, the robe of many colors that he wore.

And they sent the robe of many colors and brought it to their father and said, “This we have found; please identify whether it is your son’s robe or not.”

So when Joseph arrived, his brothers ripped off the beautiful robe he was wearing.

They sent the beautiful robe to their father with this message: “Look at what we found. Doesn’t this robe belong to your son?”

When Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped off Joseph’s robe, the long-sleeved robe that he had on.

They sent the long-sleeved robe to their father and said, “We found this. Examine it. Is it your son’s robe or not? ”

And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him

and they sent the coat of many colours, and they brought it to their father; and said, This have we found: know now whether it be thy son's coat or no.

So it came to pass, when Joseph had come to his brothers, that they stripped Joseph of his tunic, the tunic of many colors that was on him.

Then they sent the tunic of many colors, and they brought it to their father and said, “We have found this. Do you know whether it is your son’s tunic or not?”

When Joseph reached his brothers, they ripped off the fancy coat he was wearing, grabbed him, and threw him into a cistern. The cistern was dry; there wasn’t any water in it.

They took Joseph’s coat, butchered a goat, and dipped the coat in the blood. They took the fancy coat back to their father and said, “We found this. Look it over—do you think this is your son’s coat?”

So it came about, when Joseph reached his brothers, that they stripped Joseph of his tunic, the multicolored tunic that was on him

and they sent the multicolored tunic and brought it to their father and said, “We found this; please examine it to see whether it is your son’s tunic or not.”

Now when Joseph reached his brothers, they stripped him of his tunic, the [distinctive] multicolored tunic which he was wearing

and they brought the multicolored tunic to their father, saying, “We have found this; please examine it and decide whether or not it is your son’s tunic.”

When Joseph reached his brothers, they stripped him of his tunic, the special tunic that he wore.

Then they brought the special tunic to their father and said, “We found this. Determine now whether it is your son’s tunic or not.”
