Again the LORD called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” “My son,” Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.”

but Eli called him and said, “Samuel, my son.” Samuel answered, “Here I am.”

And the LORD called again, “Samuel!” and Samuel arose and went to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” But he said, “I did not call, my son; lie down again.”

But Eli called Samuel and said, “Samuel, my son.” And he said, “Here I am.”

Then the LORD called out again, “Samuel!” Again Samuel got up and went to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?” “I didn’t call you, my son,” Eli said. “Go back to bed.”

But Eli called out to him, “Samuel, my son.” “Here I am,” Samuel replied.

Once again the LORD called, “Samuel! ” Samuel got up, went to Eli, and said, “Here I am; you called me.” “I didn’t call, my son,” he replied. “Go back and lie down.”

but Eli called him and said, “Samuel, my son.” “Here I am,” answered Samuel.

And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.

Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I.

Then the LORD called yet again, “Samuel!” So Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” He answered, “I did not call, my son; lie down again.”

Then Eli called Samuel and said, “Samuel, my son!” He answered, “Here I am.”

GOD called again, “Samuel, Samuel!” Samuel got up and went to Eli, “I heard you call. Here I am.” Again Eli said, “Son, I didn’t call you. Go back to bed.” (This all happened before Samuel knew GOD for himself. It was before the revelation of GOD had been given to him personally.)

But then Eli summoned Samuel: “Samuel, my son!” Samuel came running: “Yes? What can I do for you?”

And the LORD called yet again, “Samuel!” So Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” But he said, “I did not call, my son, go back and lie down.”

Then Eli called Samuel and said, “Samuel, my son.” And he said, “Here I am.”

Then the LORD called yet again, “Samuel!” So Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” But Eli answered, “I did not call, my son; lie down again.”

But Eli called Samuel and said, “Samuel, my son.” And he answered, “Here I am.”

The LORD again called, “Samuel!” So Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” But Eli said, “I didn’t call you, my son. Go back and lie down.”

However, Eli called Samuel and said, “Samuel, my son!” He replied, “Here I am.”
