1 Corinthians 14:32-33
1 Corinthians 14:26-33 The Message (MSG)
So here’s what I want you to do. When you gather for worship, each one of you be prepared with something that will be useful for all: Sing a hymn, teach a lesson, tell a story, lead a prayer, provide an insight. If prayers are offered in tongues, two or three’s the limit, and then only if someone is present who can interpret what you’re saying. Otherwise, keep it between God and yourself. And no more than two or three speakers at a meeting, with the rest of you listening and taking it to heart. Take your turn, no one person taking over. Then each speaker gets a chance to say something special from God, and you all learn from each other. If you choose to speak, you’re also responsible for how and when you speak. When we worship the right way, God doesn’t stir us up into confusion; he brings us into harmony. This goes for all the churches—no exceptions.
1 Corinthians 14:32-33 King James Version (KJV)
And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
1 Corinthians 14:32-33 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets; for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.
1 Corinthians 14:32-33 New Century Version (NCV)
The spirits of prophets are under the control of the prophets themselves. God is not a God of confusion but a God of peace. As is true in all the churches of God’s people
1 Corinthians 14:32-33 American Standard Version (ASV)

1 Corinthians 14:32-33 New King James Version (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 14:32-33 Amplified Bible (AMP)
for the spirits of prophets are subject to the prophets [the prophecy is under the speaker’s control, and he can stop speaking]; for God [who is the source of their prophesying] is not a God of confusion and disorder but of peace and order. A s [is the practice] in all the churches of the saints (God’s people)
1 Corinthians 14:32-33 New Living Translation (NLT)
Remember that people who prophesy are in control of their spirit and can take turns. For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God’s holy people.
