“The poor wretch threw himself at the king’s feet and begged, ‘Give me a chance and I’ll pay it all back.’ Touched by his plea, the king let him off, erasing the debt. “The servant was no sooner out of the room when he came upon one of his fellow servants who owed him ten dollars. He seized him by the throat and demanded, ‘Pay up. Now!’ “The poor wretch threw himself down and begged, ‘Give me a chance and I’ll pay it all back.’ But he wouldn’t do it. He had him arrested and put in jail until the debt was paid. When the other servants saw this going on, they were outraged and brought a detailed report to the king. “The king summoned the man and said, ‘You evil servant! I forgave your entire debt when you begged me for mercy. Shouldn’t you be compelled to be merciful to your fellow servant who asked for mercy?’ The king was furious and put the screws to the man until he paid back his entire debt. And that’s exactly what my Father in heaven is going to do to each one of you who doesn’t forgive unconditionally anyone who asks for mercy.”

We are going to look at another gift inside of grace by looking at what Jesus says about love and hate. Jesus says to love your neighbor, but to also love your enemies. This plan will take you through what Jesus says about forgiveness, and how, as children of God, we can choose to love and forgive those who have wounded us.
We cannot fully understand how prayer works but the effects, the power, and the results are undeniable. However, we must approach prayer with a conscious of heart. Jesus shows us three things that must be in place, not if, but when we pray.
One of the good news of the Gospel is that our life can change, no matter how it began. Your identity is not defined by your past. Jesus comes to your rescue, you can get back on the road, keep walking in the valley of the shadow of death and get out of it.
Forgiveness is hard, but expected. Jesus spoke about it often in the Parables. In this reading plan, we will look at Parables spoken by Jesus and recorded in the Gospels about forgiveness and living in love with the people around us. It is possible.
