3“Say to them, ‘Throughout your generations, any man from any of your offspring who comes near the votive offerings that the Israelites#Literally “sons/children of Israel” consecrate to Yahweh with#Or “and” his uncleanness on him, that person shall be cut off#Or “and that person shall be cut off” from before me;#Literally “to the faces of me” I am Yahweh.
4“ ‘Anyone#Literally “A man a man” from Aaron’s offspring, if#Or “and” he is afflicted with a skin disease or a fluid discharge, shall not eat in the sanctuary until#Literally “until which” he is clean; and the one who touches any unclean person or a man from whom an emission of semen goes out, 5or a man who touches any swarmer that is unclean for him or who touches a person who is unclean for him due to#Literally “for” whatever his uncleanness, 6a person who touches such a thing#Hebrew “him” or “it” shall be unclean until the evening, and he shall not eat from the votive offerings, except#Or “but if” or “but rather” when he washes#Or “bathes” his body with water 7and the sun sets,#Literally “the sun goes” or “the sun enters” and he shall be clean; then#Or “and” afterward he may eat from the votive offerings, because it is his food. 8He shall not eat a naturally dead body or#Or “and” a mangled carcass, so that he becomes unclean#Literally “to become unclean” by it; I am Yahweh.
9“ ‘And they shall keep my obligation, and they shall not incur guilt because of it, so that#Or “and” they die through it, because they have profaned it; I am Yahweh who consecrates them.
10“ ‘No stranger shall eat#Literally “And any stranger shall not eat” the votive offering; nor shall a temporary resident with#Hebrew “of” a priest or#Or “and” a hired worker eat the votive offering. 11But#Or “And” a priest, if with his money he buys a person as his possession,#Literally “property of” that one may eat it, and the descendants of his house themselves may eat his food. 12And a priest’s daughter, when she marries a layman,#Literally “she becomes for a strange man” she herself may not eat the votive offering.#Literally “the offering/lifting of the votive offering” 13But#Or “And” a priest’s daughter, when she becomes a widow or#Or “and” divorced or there is no offspring for her, and she returns to her father’s house as in her childhood, she may eat from her father’s food, but#Or “and” no layman may eat it.#Literally “any stranger shall not eat it” 14And if a man eats the votive offering unintentionally, then#Or “and” he shall add to it a fifth of it, and he shall give the votive offering to the priest. 15And they shall not profane the Israelites’#Literally “sons/children of Israel” votive offerings that they present to Yahweh, 16and so cause them, by their eating their votive offerings, to bear guilt requiring a guilt offering, because I am Yahweh, who consecrates them.’ ”
Acceptable Offerings
17Then#Or “And” Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 18“Speak to Aaron and to his sons and to all the Israelites,#Literally “sons/children of Israel” and say to them, ‘Anyone from the house of Israel or#Or “and” from the alien in Israel who presents his offering for any of their vows or#Or “and” for any of their freewill offerings that they present to Yahweh as a burnt offering, 19it must be without defect to be acceptable for you:#Literally “for your acceptance” a male among the cattle, among the sheep, or#Or “and” among the goats. 20You shall not present any animal in which is a physical defect, because it shall not be acceptable#Literally “for acceptance” for you. 21And if anyone brings a sacrifice of fellowship offerings for Yahweh to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering from#Or “among” the cattle or from#Or “among” the flock,#The Hebrew term refers collectively to both sheep and goats (small livestock animals) it must be without defect to be acceptable;#Literally “for acceptance” there must not be any physical defect in it. 22The blind or the injured or the maimed or the seeping or one with a skin disorder or one with a skin eruption—these you shall not present to Yahweh, nor shall you give from them an offering made by fire on the altar for Yahweh. 23As for#Or “And” an ox or sheep that is deformed or#Or “and” that is stunted, you may present it as a freewill offering, but#Or “and” for a vow it will not be accepted. 24And you shall not present anything for Yahweh with bruised or#Or “and” shattered or#Or “and” torn or#Or “and” cut-off testicles, and you shall not sacrifice#Literally “do” or “make” such in your land. 25And you shall not present your God’s food from any of these by the hand of a foreigner,#Literally “a son of a foreign land” because their deformity is in them; a physical defect is in them; they shall not be accepted for you.’ ”
26Then#Or “And” Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 27“When an ox or a sheep or a goat is born, then#Or “and” it shall be under its mother for seven days, and from the eighth day and beyond it is acceptable as an offering made by fire for Yahweh. 28And you shall not slaughter an ox or a sheep and its young#Literally “his son” or “his child” on the same day.#Literally “on day one” or “in one day” 29And when you sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to Yahweh, you must sacrifice it to be acceptable for you. 30It must be eaten on that day; you must not leave over anything from it until morning; I am Yahweh.
31“Thus#Or “And” you shall keep my commands, and you shall do them; I am Yahweh.
32“And you shall not profane my holy name, so that I may be consecrated in the midst of the Israelites;#Literally “sons/children of Israel” I am Yahweh, who consecrates you, 33the one who brought you out from the land of Egypt to be as God for you; I am Yahweh.”

Leviticus 22
22
1And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, 2Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they profane not my holy name in the things that they hallow unto me: I am Jehovah. 3Say unto them, Every one of all your seed, throughout your generations, that approacheth the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto Jehovah, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from before me: I am Jehovah. 4Whatsoever man of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or hath a flux, he shall not eat of the holy things, until he is clean. And he that toucheth any one that is unclean by a dead person, or a man whose seed of copulation hath passed from him; 5or a man that toucheth any crawling thing whereby he becometh unclean, or a man by whom he may become unclean, whatever may be his uncleanness, 6— a person that toucheth any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things; but he shall bathe his flesh with water, 7and when the sun goeth down, he shall be clean, and may afterwards eat of the holy things; for it is his food. 8Of a dead carcase and what is torn shall he not eat, to make himself unclean therewith: I am Jehovah. 9And they shall keep my charge, lest they bear sin for it, and die by it, if they profane it: I am Jehovah who do hallow them.
10And no stranger shall eat the holy thing; the sojourner with the priest, and the hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing. 11But if a priest buy any one for money, he may eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they may eat of his food. 12And a priest's daughter who is married to a stranger may not eat of the heave-offering of the holy things. 13But a priest's daughter that becometh a widow, or is divorced, and hath no seed, and returneth unto her father's house, as in her youth, she may eat of her father's food; but no stranger shall eat thereof. 14And if a man eat of a holy thing through inadvertence, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give it unto the priest with the holy thing. 15And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel which they offer unto Jehovah, 16and cause them to bear the iniquity of trespass when they eat their holy things; for I am Jehovah who do hallow them.
17And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, 18Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners in Israel, that presenteth his offering for any of his vows, and for any of his voluntary offerings, which they present to Jehovah as a burnt-offering, 19it shall be for your acceptance, without blemish, a male of the oxen, of the sheep, and of the goats. 20Nothing that hath a defect shall ye present; for it shall not be acceptable for you. 21And if any present a sacrifice of peace-offering to Jehovah to accomplish a vow, or a voluntary offering of oxen or small cattle, it shall be without blemish to be accepted: there shall be no defect therein. 22Blind, or broken, or maimed, or ulcerous, or with itch, or scabbed — ye shall not present these to Jehovah, nor make an offering by fire of them on the altar to Jehovah. 23A bullock and a sheep that hath a member too long or too short, that mayest thou offer as a voluntary offering; but as a vow it shall not be accepted. 24That which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut shall ye not present to Jehovah; neither in your land shall ye do the like. 25Nor from the hand of the stranger shall ye present the bread of your God#GodHebrew: Elohim of any of these; for their corruption is in them: a defect is in them; they shall not be accepted for you. 26And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, 27An ox, or a sheep, or a goat, when it is brought forth, shall be seven days under its dam; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering by fire to Jehovah. 28A cow, or sheep — it and its young shall ye not slaughter in one day. 29And when ye sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to Jehovah, ye shall sacrifice it for your acceptance. 30On that day shall it be eaten: ye shall leave none of it until morning: I am Jehovah. 31And ye shall observe my commandments and do them: I am Jehovah. 32And ye shall not profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am Jehovah who do hallow you, 33who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God#GodHebrew: Elohim I am Jehovah.
