Ang mga Kaliwat ni Esau

(1 Cron. 1:34-42)

1Mao kini ang sugilanon bahin sa pamilya ni Esau (nga gitawag usab ug Edom).

2Naminyo si Esau sa mga babaye nga taga-Canaan. Sila mao si Ada nga anak ni Elon nga Hitihanon, si Oholibama nga anak ni Ana ug apo ni Zibeon nga Hibihanon, 3ug si Basemat nga anak ni Ishmael ug igsoon ni Nebayot.

4Ang anak ni Esau kang Ada mao si Elifaz. Ang iyang anak kang Basemat mao si Reuel. 5Ug ang iyang mga anak kang Oholibama mao sila si Jeush, Jalam, ug Kora. Sila ang mga anak ni Esau nga natawo sa Canaan.

6Gidala ni Esau ang iyang mga asawa, mga anak, ug ang tanang sakop sa iyang panimalay, apil ang mga kabtangan ug kahayopan nga natigom niya sa Canaan, ug mibalhin siya sa usa ka dapit, layo kang Jacob nga iyang igsoon. 7Kay dili sila mahimong mag-uban sa usa ka dapit tungod sa kadaghan sa ilang kabtangan; ug ang mga sabsabanan sa dapit nga ilang gipuy-an dili paigo sa daghan nila nga mga kahayopan. 8Busa didto nagpuyo si Esau (nga gitawag usab ug Edom) sa kabungtoran sa Seir.

9Mao kini ang sugilanon mahitungod sa pamilya ni Esau nga amahan sa mga Edomihanon nga nagpuyo sa kabungtoran sa Seir.

10Ang anak ni Esau kang Basemat mao si Reuel, ug ang anak niya kang Ada mao si Elifaz.

11Ang mga anak ni Elifaz mao sila si Teman, Omar, Zefo, Gatam, ug Kenaz. 12Anak usab niya si Amalek sa usa pa niya ka asawa nga si Timna. Sila ang mga apo ni Esau sa iyang asawa nga si Ada.

13Ang mga anak ni Reuel mao sila si Nahat, Zera, Shama, ug Miza. Sila ang mga apo ni Esau sa iyang asawa nga si Basemat.

14Ang mga anak ni Esau kang Oholibama mao sila si Jeush, Jalam, ug Kora. (Si Oholibama anak ni Ana ug apo ni Zibeon.)

15Mao kini ang mga kaliwat ni Esau nga nahimong mga pangulo:

Si Teman, Omar, Zefo, Kenaz, 16Kora, Gatam, ug Amalek. Mga anak kini sila ni Elifaz ug mga apo ni Esau sa iyang asawa nga si Ada. Nangulo sila sa Edom.

17Nahimo usab nga mga pangulo sa Edom ang mga anak ni Reuel nga sila si Nahat, Zera, Shama, ug Miza. Sila ang mga apo ni Esau sa iyang asawa nga si Basemat.

18Nahimo usab nga mga pangulo ang mga anak ni Esau kang Oholibama nga anak ni Ana. Sila mao si Jeush, Jalam, ug Kora.

19Silang tanan ang mga kaliwat ni Esau nga mga pangulo sa Edom.

20Mao kini ang mga anak ni Seir nga Horihanon nga nagpuyo sa Edom: si Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Ana, 21Dishon, Ezer, ug Dishan. Nahimo silang pangulo sa mga Horihanon nga kaliwat ni Seir, nga nagpuyo sa Edom.

22Ang mga anak ni Lotan mao sila si Hori ug si Hemam#36:22 Hemam: o Homam.. Managsoon si Lotan ug si Timna nga usa sa asawa ni Elifaz.

23Ang mga anak ni Shobal mao sila si Alvan, Manahat, Ebal, Shefo, ug Onam.

24Ang mga anak ni Zibeon mao sila si Aya ug si Ana. (Si Ana mao ang nakakaplag sa tuboran didto sa kamingawan sa dihang nagbantay siya sa mga asno sa iyang amahan nga si Zibeon.)

25Ang mga anak ni Ana mao si Dishon ug si Oholibama.

26Ang mga anak ni Dishon mao sila si Hemdan, Eshban, Itran, ug Keran.

27Ang mga anak ni Ezer mao sila si Bilhan, Zaavan, ug Acan.

28Ang mga anak ni Dishan mao si Uz ug si Aran.

29-30Mao kini sila ang mga pangulo sa mga Horihanon nga midumala sa mga dapit sa Seir: si Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Ana, Dishon, Ezer, ug Dishan.

Ang mga Hari sa Edom

(1 Cron. 1:43-54)

31Mao kini sila ang mga hari sa Edom sa panahon nga wala pay mga hari ang mga Israelinhon:

32Si Bela nga anak ni Beor nahimong hari sa Edom. Dinhaba ang ngalan sa iyang ulohang lungsod.

33Pagkamatay niya, gipulihan siya ni Jobab nga anak ni Zera nga taga-Bozra.

34Pagkamatay ni Jobab, gipulihan siya ni Husham nga taga-Teman.

35Pagkamatay ni Husham, gipulihan siya ni Hadad nga anak ni Bedad. Si Hadad maoy mipildi sa mga Midianhon didto sa Moab. Avit ang ngalan sa iyang ulohang lungsod.

36Pagkamatay ni Hadad, gipulihan siya ni Samla nga taga-Masreka.

37Pagkamatay ni Samla, gipulihan siya ni Saulo nga taga-Rehobot nga duol sa Suba.

38Pagkamatay ni Saulo, gipulihan siya ni Baal Hanan nga anak ni Acbor.

39Pagkamatay ni Baal Hanan, gipulihan siya ni Hadar. Pau ang ngalan sa iyang ulohang lungsod. Ang iyang asawa mao si Mehetabel nga anak ni Matred ug apo ni Mezahab.

40-43Si Esau (o Edom) mao ang katigulangan sa mga Edomihanon. Mao kini sila ang nahimong pangulo sa mga kaliwat ni Esau nga ang ilang mga tribo ug dapit ginganlan usab sa ilang mga ngalan: Timna, Alva, Jetet, Oholibama, Elah, Pinon, Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, Magdiel, ug Iram.

Esau’s Descendants

1These are the generations of Esau (that is, #ch. 25:30Edom). 2Esau #ch. 26:34took his wives from the Canaanites: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, #ver. 14, 18, 25Oholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter#36:2 Hebrew; Samaritan, Septuagint, Syriac son; also verse 14 of Zibeon the Hivite, 3and #[ch. 28:9]Basemath, Ishmael’s daughter, the sister of Nebaioth. 4And Adah bore to Esau, #ver. 10; 1 Chr. 1:35Eliphaz; Basemath bore Reuel; 5and Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These are the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.

6Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the members of his household, his livestock, all his beasts, and all his property that he had acquired in the land of Canaan. He went into a land away from his brother Jacob. 7#ch. 13:6For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together. #ch. 17:8; 23:4; 28:4; 37:1; Heb. 11:9The land of their sojournings could not support them because of their livestock. 8So Esau settled in #See ch. 32:3the hill country of Seir. (#ver. 1, 19Esau is Edom.)

9These are the generations of Esau the father of #ver. 43the Edomites in the hill country of Seir. 10These are the names of Esau’s sons: #ver. 4Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, Reuel the son of Basemath the wife of Esau. 11The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz. 12(Timna was a concubine of Eliphaz, Esau’s son; she bore #Num. 24:20; 1 Sam. 15:2, 3Amalek to Eliphaz.) These are the sons of Adah, Esau’s wife. 13These are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These are the sons of Basemath, Esau’s wife. 14These are the sons of #ver. 2Oholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon, Esau’s wife: she bore to Esau Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

15These are #Ex. 15:15the chiefs of the sons of Esau. #ver. 11, 12The sons of Eliphaz the firstborn of Esau: the chiefs Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz, 16Korah, Gatam, and Amalek; these are the chiefs of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Adah. 17These are the sons of #ver. 13Reuel, Esau’s son: the chiefs Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah; these are the chiefs of Reuel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Basemath, Esau’s wife. 18These are the sons of #ver. 14Oholibamah, Esau’s wife: the chiefs Jeush, Jalam, and Korah; these are the chiefs born of Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau’s wife. 19These are the sons of Esau (#ver. 1, 8that is, Edom), and these are their chiefs.

20 # For ver. 20-28, see 1 Chr. 1:38-42 These are the sons of #ch. 14:6; Deut. 2:12, 22Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, 21Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan; these are the chiefs of the Horites, the sons of Seir in the land of Edom. 22The sons of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and Lotan’s sister was Timna. 23These are the sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam. 24These are the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah; he is the Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness, as he pastured the donkeys of Zibeon his father. 25These are the children of Anah: Dishon and #ver. 2Oholibamah the daughter of Anah. 26These are the sons of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran. 27These are the sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan. 28These are the sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran. 29These are the chiefs of the Horites: the #ver. 20chiefs Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, 30Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan; these are the chiefs of the Horites, chief by chief in the land of Seir.

31 # For ver. 31-43, see 1 Chr. 1:43-54 These are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before any king reigned over the Israelites. 32Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom, the name of his city being Dinhabah. 33Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his place. 34Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place. 35Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, reigned in his place, the name of his city being Avith. 36Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place. 37Samlah died, and Shaul of #[ch. 26:22]Rehoboth on the Euphrates#36:37 Hebrew the River reigned in his place. 38Shaul died, and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his place. 39Baal-hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his place, the name of his city being Pau; his wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, daughter of Mezahab.

40These are the names of the chiefs of Esau, according to their clans and their dwelling places, by their names: the chiefs Timna, Alvah, Jetheth, 41Oholibamah, Elah, #[Num. 33:42]Pinon, 42Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, 43Magdiel, and Iram; these are the chiefs of Edom (that is, Esau, the father of #ver. 9Edom), according to their dwelling places in the land of their possession.
