When Jesus came in the flesh, died and resurrected, He unleashed in the world a new covenant reality - the kingdom of God. While the Old Testament priest advocated for the people before God, he was still a sinner. He is not only priest but sacrifice, purchasing our forgiveness; and not only does He forgive, but His Spirit transforms us. He is indeed a Great High Priest!
