Psalms 126
126
A Song of the Ascents.
1In Jehovah's turning back [to] the captivity of Zion, We have been as dreamers.
2Then filled [with] laughter is our mouth, And our tongue [with] singing, Then do they say among nations, ‘Jehovah did great things with these.’
3 Jehovah did great things with us, We have been joyful.
4Turn again, O Jehovah, [to] our captivity, As streams in the south.
5Those sowing in tears, with singing do reap,
6Whoso goeth on and weepeth, Bearing the basket of seed, Surely cometh in with singing, bearing his sheaves!

Psalms 126

PSALM 126
Common Meter: 8,6,8,6
1When Sion's bondage God turn'd back,
as men that dream'd were we.
2Then fill'd with laughter was our mouth,
our tongue with melody:
They 'mong the heathen said, The Lord
great things for them hath wrought.
3The Lord hath done great things for us,
whence joy to us is brought.
4As streams of water in the south,
our bondage, Lord, recall.
5Who sow in tears, a reaping time
of joy enjoy they shall.
6That man who, bearing precious seed,
in going forth doth mourn,
He doubtless, bringing back his sheaves,
rejoicing shall return.
