Exodus 26
26
1 MOREOVER, YOU shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains; of fine twined linen, and blue and purple and scarlet [stuff], with cherubim skillfully embroidered shall you make them.
2 The length of one curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits and the breadth of one curtain four cubits; each of the curtains shall measure the same.
3 The five curtains shall be coupled to one another, and the other five curtains shall be coupled to one another.
4 And you shall make loops of blue on the edge of the last curtain in the first set, and likewise in the second set.
5 Fifty loops you shall make on the one curtain and fifty loops on the edge of the last curtain that is in the second coupling or set, so that the loops on one correspond to the loops on the other.
6 And you shall make fifty clasps of gold and fasten the curtains together with the clasps; then the tabernacle shall be one whole.
7 And make curtains of goats' hair to be a [second] covering over the tabernacle; eleven curtains shall you make.
8 One curtain shall be thirty cubits long and four cubits wide; and the eleven curtains shall all measure the same.
9 You shall join together five curtains by themselves and six curtains by themselves, and shall double over the sixth curtain in the front of the tabernacle [to make a closed door].
10 And make fifty loops on the edge of the outmost curtain in the one set and fifty loops on the edge of the outmost curtain in the second set.
11 You shall make fifty clasps of bronze and put the clasps into the loops and couple the tent together, that it may be one whole.
12 The surplus that remains of the tent curtains, the half curtain that remains, shall hang over the back of the tabernacle.
13 And the cubit on the one side and the cubit on the other side of what remains in the length of the curtains of the tent shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle, on this side and that side, to cover it.
14 You shall make a [third] covering for the tent of rams' skins tanned red, and a [fourth] covering above that of dolphin or porpoise skins.
15 And you shall make the upright frame for the tabernacle of boards of acacia wood.
16 Ten cubits shall be the length of a board and a cubit and a half shall be the breadth of one board.
17 Make two tenons in each board for dovetailing and fitting together; so shall you do for all the tabernacle boards.
18 And make the boards for the tabernacle: twenty boards for the south side;
19 And you shall make forty silver sockets under the twenty boards, two sockets under each board for its two tenons.
20 And for the north side of the tabernacle there shall be twenty boards
21 And their forty silver sockets, two sockets under each board.
22 For the back or west side of the tabernacle you shall make six boards.
23 Make two boards for the corners of the tabernacle in the rear on both sides.
24 They shall be coupled down below and coupled together on top with one ring. Thus shall it be for both of them; they shall form the two corners.
25 And that will be eight boards and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets, two sockets under each board.
26 And you shall make bars of acacia wood: five for the boards of one side,
27 And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the rear end of the tabernacle, for the back wall to the west.
28 And the middle bar halfway up the boards shall pass through from end to end.
29 You shall overlay the boards with gold and make their rings of gold to hold the bars and overlay the bars with gold.
30 You shall erect the tabernacle after the plan of it shown you on the mountain.
31 And make a veil of blue, purple, and scarlet [stuff] and fine twined linen, skillfully worked with cherubim on it.
32 You shall hang it on four pillars of acacia wood overlaid with gold, with gold hooks, on four sockets of silver.
33 And you shall hang the veil from the clasps and bring the ark of the Testimony into place within the veil; and the veil shall separate for you the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.
34 And you shall put the mercy seat on the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy Place.
35 And you shall set the table [for the showbread] outside the veil [in the Holy Place] on the north side and the lampstand opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle.
36 You shall make a hanging [to form a screen] for the door of the tent of blue, purple, and scarlet [stuff] and fine twined linen, embroidered. [John 10:9.]
37 You shall make five pillars of acacia wood to support the hanging curtain and overlay them with gold; their hooks shall be of gold, and you shall cast five [base] sockets of bronze for them.

Exodus 26
26
The Ten Curtains for the Tabernacle
1“You are to construct the tabernacle itself with ten curtains of finely spun linen, each with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and cherubim skillfully worked into them. 2Each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide#26:2 Each of the ten curtains was approximately 42 feet long and 6 feet wide (12.8 meters long and 1.8 meters wide). — all curtains the same size.
3Five of the curtains are to be joined together, and the other five joined as well. 4Make loops of blue material on the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and do the same for the end curtain in the second set.
5Make fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the end curtain of the second set, so that the loops line up opposite one another. 6Make fifty gold clasps as well, and join the curtains together with the clasps, so that the tabernacle will be a unit.
The Eleven Curtains of Goat Hair
7You are to make curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle — eleven curtains in all. 8Each of the eleven curtains is to be the same size — thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.#26:8 Each of the eleven curtains was approximately 45 feet long and 6 feet wide (13.7 meters long and 1.8 meters wide).
9Join five of the curtains into one set and the other six into another. Then fold the sixth curtain over double at the front of the tent.
10Make fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and fifty loops along the edge of the corresponding curtain in the second set. 11Make fifty bronze clasps and put them through the loops to join the tent together as a unit.
12As for the overlap that remains of the tent curtains, the half curtain that is left over shall hang down over the back of the tabernacle. 13And the tent curtains will be a cubit#26:13 A cubit is approximately 18 inches or 45.7 centimeters. longer on either side, and the excess will hang over the sides of the tabernacle to cover it.
14Also make a covering for the tent out of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of fine leather.#26:14 Possibly the hides of large aquatic mammals
The Frames and Bases
15You are to construct upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle. 16Each frame is to be ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.#26:16 Each frame was approximately 15 feet long and 2.25 feet wide (4.6 meters long and 68.6 centimeters wide). 17Two tenons#26:17 That is, projecting pieces of wood made for insertion into another piece; similarly in verse 19. must be connected to each other for each frame. Make all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.
18Construct twenty frames for the south side of the tabernacle, 19with forty silver bases under the twenty frames — two bases for each frame, one under each tenon.
20For the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, make twenty frames 21and forty silver bases — two bases under each frame.
22Make six frames for the rear of the tabernacle, the west side, 23and two frames for the two back corners of the tabernacle, 24coupled together from bottom to top and fitted into a single ring. These will serve as the two corners. 25So there are to be eight frames and sixteen silver bases — two under each frame.
26You are also to make five crossbars of acacia wood for the frames on one side of the tabernacle, 27five for those on the other side, and five for those on the rear side of the tabernacle, to the west.
28The central crossbar in the middle of the frames shall extend from one end to the other. 29Overlay the frames with gold and make gold rings to hold the crossbars. Also overlay the crossbars with gold.
30So you are to set up the tabernacle according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
The Veil
31Make a veil of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen, with cherubim skillfully worked into it. 32Hang it with gold hooks on four posts of acacia wood, overlaid with gold and standing on four silver bases. 33And hang the veil from the clasps and place the ark of the Testimony#26:33 That is, the ark of the covenant; also in verse 34 behind the veil. So the veil will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.#26:33 Or the Holy of Holies; also in verse 34
34Put the mercy seat on the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy Place. 35And place the table outside the veil on the north side of the tabernacle, and put the lampstand opposite the table, on the south side.
The Curtain for the Entrance
36For the entrance to the tent, you are to make a curtain embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen. 37Make five posts of acacia wood for the curtain, overlay them with gold, use hooks of gold, and cast five bronze bases for them.[’’]
