A Call for Deliverance

1God, deliver me.
Hurry to help me, Lord! # Ps 38:22
2Let those who seek my life
be disgraced and confounded;
let those who wish me harm
be driven back and humiliated.
3Let those who say, “Aha, aha! ”
retreat because of their shame. # Ps 35:25; 40:14-15
4Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;
let those who love Your salvation
continually say, “God is great! ” # Ps 35:27; 77:13
5I am afflicted and needy;
hurry to me, God.
You are my help and my deliverer;
Lord, do not delay. # Ps 40:17; 141:1

To the Overseer, by David. — ‘To cause to remember.’
1O God, to deliver me, O Jehovah, for my help, haste.
2Let them be ashamed and confounded Who are seeking my soul, Let them be turned backward and blush Who are desiring my evil.
3Let them turn back because of their shame, Who are saying, ‘Aha, aha.’
4Let all those seeking Thee joy and be glad in Thee, And let those loving Thy salvation Say continually, ‘God is magnified.’
5And I [am] poor and needy, O God, haste to me, My help and my deliverer [art] Thou, O Jehovah, tarry Thou not!
