Psalms 28

My Strength
Davidic.
1Lord, I call to You;
my rock, do not be deaf to me. # Ps 83:1
If You remain silent to me,
I will be like those going down to the Pit. # Ps 88:4; 143:7
2Listen to the sound of my pleading
when I cry to You for help,
when I lift up my hands
toward Your holy sanctuary. # Ps 28:2; 134:2; 141:2; 1Tm 2:8
3Do not drag me away with the wicked,
with the evildoers,
who speak in friendly ways with their neighbors
while malice is in their hearts. # Ps 26:9-10
4Repay them according to what they have done —
according to the evil of their deeds.
Repay them according to the work of their hands;
give them back what they deserve. # Jr 50:29; Rv 18:6; 22:12
5Because they do not consider
what the Lord has done
or the work of His hands,
He will tear them down and not rebuild them. # Jb 34:26-28; Is 5:12
6May the Lord be praised,
for He has heard the sound of my pleading. # Ps 31:22

my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. # Gn 15:1; Dt 33:29; Ps 3:3; 5:12; 18:2; 119:114
Therefore my heart rejoices,
and I praise Him with my song. # Ps 59:17; 69:30
8The Lord is the strength of His people; # Some Hb mss, LXX, Syr; other Hb mss read strength for them
He is a stronghold of salvation for His anointed. # Ps 20:6; 27:1
9Save Your people, bless Your possession,
shepherd them, and carry them forever. # Ps 33:12; Is 40:11

or the work of his hands,
he will tear them down and build them up no more.
6Blessed be the Lord!
For he has #ver. 2heard the voice of my pleas for mercy.
7The Lord is my strength and #See Ps. 3:3 my shield;
in him my heart #See Ps. 11:1 trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
and with my #Ps. 69:30song I give thanks to him.
8The Lord is the strength of his people;#28:8 Some Hebrew manuscripts, Septuagint, Syriac; most Hebrew manuscripts is their strength
