Ecclesiastes 11
11
Invest in Life
1Send your bread on the surface of the waters, # Dt 15:10; Pr 19:17; Mt 10:42; Gl 6:9-10; Heb 6:10
for after many days you may find it.
2Give a portion to seven or even to eight, # Ps 112:9; Mt 5:42; Lk 6:30; 1Tm 6:18-19
for you don’t know what disaster may happen on earth.
3If the clouds are full, they will pour out rain on the earth;
whether a tree falls to the south or the north,
the place where the tree falls, there it will lie.
4One who watches the wind will not sow,
and the one who looks at the clouds will not reap.
5Just as you don’t know the path of the wind,
or how bones develop in # Or know how the life-breath comes to the bones in the womb of a pregnant woman,
so you don’t know the work of God who makes everything. # Jb 10:10-11; Ps 139:14-16; Is 55:9; Jn 3:6-8; Rm 11:33
6In the morning sow your seed,
and at evening do not let your hand rest,
because you don’t know which will succeed,
whether one or the other,
or if both of them will be equally good.
7Light is sweet,
and it is pleasing for the eyes to see the sun. # Ec 6:5; 7:11
8Indeed, if a man lives many years,
let him rejoice in them all,
and let him remember the days of darkness, # Ec 12:1 since they will be many.
All that comes is futile.
9Rejoice, young man, while you are young,
and let your heart be glad in the days of your youth.
And walk in the ways of your heart
and in the sight of your eyes; # Ec 2:24; 3:12-13,22; 5:18; 8:15; 9:7-9
but know that for all of these things God will bring you to judgment.
10Remove sorrow from your heart,
and put away pain from your flesh, # 2Co 7:1; 2Tm 2:22
because youth and the prime of life are fleeting.

Qoheleth (Ecclesiastes) 11
11
1Send out your bread on the face of the waters, for after many days you shall find it.
2Give a portion to seven, and also to eight, for you do not know what evil might be on the earth.
3If the clouds are filled with rain, they empty themselves upon the earth. And if a tree falls to the south or the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it is.
4He who watches the wind does not sow, and he who looks at the clouds does not reap.
5As you do not know what is the way of the wind, or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, so you do not know the works of Elohim who makes all.
6Sow your seed in the morning, and until evening do not let your hand rest; since you do not know which prosper, this or that, or whether both alike are good.
7Sweet also is the light, and good for the eyes to see the sun;
8But if a man lives many years, let him rejoice in them all. But let him remember the days of darkness, for they are many. All that is coming is futility.
9Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart gladden you in the days of your youth. And walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes, but know that for all these Elohim brings you into right-ruling.
10Therefore remove vexation from your heart, and put away evil from your flesh, for youth and dawn of life are futility.
