8Ham’s sons: Cush, Mizraim, # = Egypt Put, and Canaan.
9Cush’s sons: Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raama, and Sabteca.
Raama’s sons: Sheba and Dedan.
10Cush fathered Nimrod, who was the first to become a great warrior on earth.
11Mizraim # Gn 10:13-18 fathered Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim, 12Pathrusim, Casluhim (the Philistines came from them), and Caphtorim. # Dt 2:23; Am 9:7
13Canaan fathered Sidon as his firstborn, then Heth, 14the Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites, 15Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, 16Arvadites, Zemarites, and Hamathites.
17Shem’s # Gn 10:21-29 sons: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram, Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.
18Arpachshad fathered Shelah, and Shelah fathered Eber. 19Two sons were born to Eber. One of them was named Peleg # = Division because the earth was divided during his lifetime, and the name of his brother was Joktan. 20Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, 21Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, 22Ebal, Abimael, Sheba, 23Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All of these were Joktan’s sons.
24Shem, # Gn 11:10-26; Lk 3:34-36 Arpachshad, Shelah,
25Eber, Peleg, Reu,
26Serug, Nahor, Terah,
27and Abram (that is, Abraham).
Abraham’s Descendants
28Abraham’s sons: Isaac and Ishmael.
29These # Gn 25:12-16 are their family records: Nebaioth, Ishmael’s firstborn, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, 30Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema, 31Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.
These were Ishmael’s sons.
32The sons # Gn 25:1-4 born to Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.
Jokshan’s sons: Sheba and Dedan.
33Midian’s sons: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah.
All of these were Keturah’s sons.
34Abraham # 1Ch 1:28 fathered Isaac.
Isaac’s sons: Esau and Israel. # Gn 25:24-26; 32:28
35Esau’s # Gn 36:4-5,9-14 sons: Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.
36Eliphaz’s sons: Teman, Omar, Zephi, Gatam, and Kenaz; and by Timna, Amalek. # LXX; MT reads and Timna and Amalek ; Gn 36:12
37Reuel’s sons: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.
The Edomites
38Seir’s # Gn 36:20-30 sons: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.
39Lotan’s sons: Hori and Homam. Timna was Lotan’s sister.
40Shobal’s sons: Alian, Manahath, Ebal, Shephi, and Onam.
Zibeon’s sons: Aiah and Anah.
41Anah’s son: Dishon.
Dishon’s sons: Hamran, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.
42Ezer’s sons: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Jaakan.
Dishan’s sons: Uz and Aran.
43These # Gn 36:31-39 were the kings who ruled in the land of Edom before any king ruled over the Israelites: Bela son of Beor. Bela’s town was named Dinhabah. 44When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah # Is 34:6 ruled in his place. 45When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites # Jb 2:11 ruled in his place. 46When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, ruled in his place. Hadad’s town was named Avith. 47When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah ruled in his place. 48When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the Euphrates River ruled in his place. 49When Shaul died, Baal-hanan son of Achbor ruled in his place. 50When Baal-hanan died, Hadad ruled in his place. Hadad’s city was named Pai, and his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-zahab. 51Then Hadad died.
Edom’s # Gn 36:40-43 chiefs: Timna, Alvah, # Alt Hb tradition reads Aliah Jetheth, 52Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon, 53Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, 54Magdiel, and Iram.
These were Edom’s chiefs.

5The sons of Yapheth: Gomer, and Maḡoḡ, and Maḏai, and Yawan, and Tuḇal, and Mesheḵ, and Tiras.

15and the Ḥiwwite, and the Arqite, and the Sinite,
16and the Arwaḏite, and the Tsemarite, and the Ḥamathite.
17The sons of Shĕm: Ěylam, and Asshur, and Arpaḵshaḏ, and Luḏ, and Aram, and Uts, Ḥul, and Gether, and Mesheḵ.
18And Arpaḵshaḏ brought forth Shelaḥ, and Shelaḥ brought forth Ěḇer.
19To Ěḇer were born two sons: the name of one was Peleḡ, for in his days the earth was divided, and his brother’s name was Yoqtan.
20And Yoqtan brought forth Almoḏaḏ, and Sheleph, and Ḥatsarmaweth, and Yeraḥ,
21and Haḏoram, and Uzal, and Diqlah,
22and Ěyḇal, and Aḇima’ĕl, and Sheḇa,
23and Ophir, and Ḥawilah, and Yoḇaḇ. All these were the sons of Yoqtan.
24Shĕm, Arpaḵshaḏ, Shĕlah,
25Ěḇer, Peleḡ, Re‛u,
26Seruḡ, Naḥor, Teraḥ,
27and Aḇram, that is Aḇraham.
28The sons of Aḇraham: Yitsḥaq and Yishma‛ĕl.
29These are their genealogies: The first-born of Yishma‛ĕl was Neḇayoth, and Qĕḏar, and Aḏbe’ĕl, and Miḇsam,
30Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa, Haḏaḏ, and Tĕma,
31Yetur, Naphish, and Qĕḏemah. These were the sons of Yishma‛ĕl.
32And the sons born to Qeturah, Aḇraham’s concubine: Zimran, and Yoqshan, and Meḏan, and Miḏyan, and Yishbaq, and Shuwaḥ. The sons of Yoqshan: Sheḇa and Deḏan.
33And the sons of Miḏyan: Ěphah, and Ěpher, and Ḥanoḵ, and Aḇiḏa, and Elda‛ah. All these were the children of Qeturah.
34And Aḇraham brought forth Yitsḥaq. The sons of Yitsḥaq: Ěsaw and Yisra’ĕl.
35The sons of Ěsaw: Eliphaz, Re‛u’ĕl, and Ye‛ush, and Ya‛lam, and Qoraḥ.
36And the sons of Eliphaz: Tĕman, and Omar, Tsephi, and Gatam, and Qenaz, and Timna, and Amalĕq.
37The sons of Re‛u’ĕl: Naḥath, Zeraḥ, Shammah, and Mizzah.
38And the sons of Sĕ‛ir: Lotan, and Shoḇal, and Tsiḇ‛on, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ětser, and Dishan.
39And the sons of Lotan: Ḥori and Homam; Lotan’s sister was Timna.
40The sons of Shoḇal: Alyan, and Manaḥath, and Ěyḇal, Shephi, and Onam. The sons of Tsiḇ‛on: Ayah and Anah.
41The son of Anah was Dishon. The sons of Dishon: Ḥamran, and Eshban, and Yithran, and Keran.
42The sons of Ětser: Bilhan, and Za‛awan, and Ya‛aqan. The sons of Dishan: Uts and Aran.
43And these were the sovereigns who reigned in the land of Eḏom before any sovereign reigned over the children of Yisra’ĕl: Bela son of Be‛or, and the name of his city was Dinhaḇah.
44And when Bela died, Yoḇaḇ son of Zeraḥ of Botsrah reigned in his place.
45And Yoḇaḇ died, and Ḥusham of the land of the Tĕmanites reigned in his place.
46And when Ḥusham died, Haḏaḏ son of Beḏaḏ, who struck Miḏyan in the field of Mo’aḇ, reigned in his place. The name of his city was Awith.
47And Haḏaḏ died, and Samlah of Masrĕqah reigned in his place.
48And Samlah died, and Sha’ul of Reḥoḇoth-by-the-River reigned in his place.
49And Sha’ul died, and Ba‛al-Ḥanan son of Aḵbor reigned in his place.
50And Ba‛al-Ḥanan died, and Haḏaḏ reigned in his place. And the name of his city was Pai. And his wife’s name was Mehĕtab’ĕl the daughter of Matrĕḏ, the daughter of Mĕyzahaḇ.
51And Haḏaḏ died. And the chiefs of Eḏom were Chief Timnah, Chief Alyah, Chief Yethĕth,
52Chief Oholiḇamah, Chief Ělah, Chief Pinon,
53Chief Qenaz, Chief Tĕman, Chief Miḇtsar,
54Chief Maḡdi’ĕl, and Chief Iram. These were the chiefs of Eḏom.
