Zechariah 14

The LORD Will Fight the Nations
1A day is going to come for the Lord when the loot you have taken will be divided among you. 2I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem for battle. The city will be captured, the houses looted, and the women raped. Half of the people in the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people won’t be taken from the city.
3Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as he does when he fights a battle. 4On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, just east of Jerusalem. The Mount of Olives will be split in two, forming a very large valley from east to west. Half of the mountain will move toward the north, and the other half will move toward the south. 5Then you will flee to the valley of my mountains, because this valley between the mountains will go as far as Azel. You will flee as you did from the earthquake at the time of King Uzziah of Judah. The Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones will be with him.
6On that day there will be neither heat nor freezing cold. 7There will be one day—a day known to the Lord—with no difference between day and night. It will be light even in the evening.
Living Water from Jerusalem
8On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it to the Dead Sea and the other half to the Mediterranean Sea. It will continue in summer and in winter.
9The Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be the only Lord and his name the only name.
10The whole earth will become like the plains from Geba to Rimmon, south of Jerusalem. Jerusalem will rise and remain on its site, from Benjamin Gate to the place of First Gate, Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses. 11People will live there, and it will never be threatened with destruction. Jerusalem will live securely.
12This will be the plague the Lord will use to strike all the people from the nations that have gone to war against Jerusalem. Their flesh will rot while they are standing on their feet. Their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.
13On that day a large-scale panic from the Lord will spread among them. One person will grab the hand of another, and one will attack the other. 14Judah will also fight in Jerusalem. The wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected, a very large amount of gold, silver, and clothes. 15A similar plague will also affect horses, mules, camels, donkeys, and all other animals in those camps.
16Everyone who is left from all the nations that attacked Jerusalem will come every year to worship the king, the Lord of Armies, and to celebrate the Festival of Booths. 17If any of the families on the earth won’t go to Jerusalem to worship the king, the Lord of Armies, then rain won’t fall on them. 18If the people of Egypt won’t go or enter Jerusalem, then ⌞rain won’t fall⌟ on them. The plague the Lord uses to strike the nations will affect those who won’t come to celebrate the Festival of Booths. 19This will be ⌞the punishment⌟ for Egypt’s sin and for the sin of all the nations that won’t go to celebrate the Festival of Booths.
20On that day “Holy to the Lord” will be written on the bells of the horses. And the cooking pots in the house of the Lord will be like the bowls in front of the altar. 21Yes, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah will be holy to the Lord of Armies. All who come to sacrifice will take some of them and cook in them. On that day there will no longer be any Canaanite #14:21 Or “merchant.” in the house of the Lord of Armies.

The Day of the Lord
1Behold, #(Is. 13:6, 9; Joel 2:1; Mal. 4:1)the day of the Lord is coming,
And your spoil will be divided in your midst.
2For #Joel 3:2; Zech. 12:2, 3I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken,
The houses rifled,
And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity,
But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
3Then the Lord will go forth
And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle.
4And in that day His feet will stand #Ezek. 11:23; Acts 1:9–12on the Mount of Olives,
Which faces Jerusalem on the east.
And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two,
From east to west,
#Joel 3:12Making a very large valley;
Half of the mountain shall move toward the north
And half of it toward the south.
5Then you shall flee through My mountain valley,
For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal.
Yes, you shall flee
As you fled from the #Is. 29:6; Amos 1:1earthquake
In the days of Uzziah king of Judah.
#(Ps. 96:13); Is. 66:15, 16; Matt. 24:30, 31; 25:31; Jude 14Thus the Lord my God will come,
And #Joel 3:11all the saints with You.
6It shall come to pass in that day
That there will be no light;
The lights will diminish.
7It shall be one day
#Matt. 24:36Which is known to the Lord—
Neither day nor night.
But at #Is. 30:26evening time it shall happen
That it will be light.
8And in that day it shall be
That living #Ezek. 47:1–12; Joel 3:18; (John 7:38; Rev. 22:1, 2)waters shall flow from Jerusalem,
Half of them toward the eastern sea
And half of them toward the western sea;
In both summer and winter it shall occur.
9And the Lord shall be #(Jer. 23:5, 6; Rev. 11:15)King over all the earth.
In that day it shall be—
#(Eph. 4:5, 6); Deut. 6:4“The Lord is one,”
And His name one.
10All the land shall be turned into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be raised up and #Jer. 30:18; Zech. 12:6inhabited in her place from Benjamin’s Gate to the place of the First Gate and the Corner Gate, #Neh. 3:1; Jer. 31:38and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses.
11The people shall dwell in it;
And #Jer. 31:40no longer shall there be utter destruction,
#Jer. 23:6; Ezek. 34:25–28; Hos. 2:18But Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
12And this shall be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem:
Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet,
Their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets,
And their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths.
13It shall come to pass in that day
That #1 Sam. 14:15, 20a great panic from the Lord will be among them.
Everyone will seize the hand of his neighbor,
And raise #Judg. 7:22; 2 Chr. 20:23; Ezek. 38:21his hand against his neighbor’s hand;
14Judah also will fight at Jerusalem.
#Ezek. 39:10, 17And the wealth of all the surrounding nations
Shall be gathered together:
Gold, silver, and apparel in great abundance.
15#Zech. 14:12Such also shall be the plague
On the horse and the mule,
On the camel and the donkey,
And on all the cattle that will be in those camps.
So shall this plague be.
The Nations Worship the King
16And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall #(Is. 2:2, 3; 60:6–9; 66:18–21; Mic. 4:1, 2)go up from year to year to #Is. 27:13worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep #Lev. 23:34–44; Neh. 8:14; Hos. 12:9; John 7:2the Feast of Tabernacles. 17#Is. 60:12And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain. 18If the family of #Is. 19:21Egypt will not come up and enter in, #Deut. 11:10they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the Lord strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. 19This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
20In that day #Ex. 28:36; 39:30; Is. 23:18; Jer. 2:3“HOLINESS TO THE LORD” shall be engraved on the bells of the horses. The #Ezek. 46:20pots in the Lord’s house shall be like the bowls before the altar. 21Yes, every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be holiness to the Lord of hosts. Everyone who sacrifices shall come and take them and cook in them. In that day there shall no longer be a #Is. 35:8; Ezek. 44:9; Joel 3:17; Rev. 21:27; 22:15Canaanite #(Eph. 2:19–22)in the house of the Lord of hosts.
