Psalm 9
For the choir director; according to muth labben; #9:0 Or “almuth labben”; unknown musical term. a psalm by David.#9:0 Some Hebrew manuscripts, Greek, and Latin treat Psalms 9 and 10 as one psalm.
1I will give ⌞you⌟ thanks, O Lord, with all my heart.
I will tell about all the miracles you have done.
2I will find joy and be glad about you.
I will make music to praise your name, O Most High.
3When my enemies retreat, they will stumble and die in your presence.
4You have defended my just cause:
You sat down on your throne as a fair judge.
5You condemned nations.
You destroyed wicked people.
You wiped out their names forever and ever.
6The enemy is finished—in ruins forever.
You have uprooted their cities.
Even the memory of them has faded.
7Yet, the Lord is enthroned forever.
He has set up his throne for judgment.
8He alone judges the world with righteousness.
He judges ⌞its⌟ people fairly.
9The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
10Those who know your name trust you, O Lord,
because you have never deserted those who seek your help.
11Make music to praise the Lord, who is enthroned in Zion.
Announce to the nations what he has done.
12The one who avenges murder has remembered oppressed people.
He has never forgotten their cries.
13Have pity on me, O Lord.
Look at what I suffer because of those who hate me.
You take me away from the gates of death
14so that I may recite your praises one by one
in the gates of Zion
and find joy in your salvation.
15The nations have sunk into the pit they have made.
Their feet are caught in the net they have hidden ⌞to trap others⌟.
16The Lord is known by the judgment he has carried out.
The wicked person is trapped
by the work of his own hands. Higgaion Selah
17Wicked people, all the nations who forget God,
will return to the grave.
18Needy people will not always be forgotten.
Nor will the hope of oppressed people be lost forever.
19Arise, O Lord.
Do not let mortals gain any power.
Let the nations be judged in your presence.
20Strike them with terror, O Lord.
Let the nations know that they are ⌞only⌟ mortal. Selah

Tehillim 9
9
(For the one directing. To The Death of the Son. Mizmor of Dovid)
1I will give thanks to Thee, Hashem, with kol lev of me; I will show forth all Thy marvellous works.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in Thee; I will sing praise to Thy Shem, O Thou Elyon.
3 When mine oyevim are turned back, they shall fall and perish at Thy presence.
4 For Thou hast maintained my mishpat and my cause; Thou as Shofet Tzedek dost sit on the kisse.
5 Thou hast rebuked the Goyim, Thou hast destroyed the wicked, Thou hast blotted out their shem l'olam va'ed.
6 Choravot lanetzach (endless ruins) have come to the enemy: and Thou hast rooted out cities; their memory is perished with them.
7 But Hashem shall reign l'olam; He hath established His kisse (throne) for mishpat.
8 And He shall judge the tevel (world) in tzedek, He shall govern the nations with justice.
9 Hashem also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of tzoros.
10 And they that know Shemecha will put their trust in Thee; for Thou, Hashem, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee.
11 Sing praises to Hashem, enthroned in Tziyon; declare among the nations His deeds.
12 When He avenges#9:12 shefach dahm, He remembereth them; He forgetteth not the cry of the aniyim (humble, afflicted, the helpless ones).
13 Have mercy upon me, Hashem; consider my sufferings which I suffer of them that hate me, Thou that liftest me up from the sha'arei mavet (gates of death);
14 That I may show forth all Thy praise in the Sha'arei Bat Tziyon. I will rejoice in Thy Yeshu'ah (salvation).
15 The Goyim are sunk down in the shachat (pit) that they dug; in the reshet (net) which they hid is their own foot caught.
16 Hashem is known by the mishpat which He executeth; the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgayon. Selah
17 The resha'im shall be turned into Sheol, and all the Goyim that forget Elohim.
18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten; the tikveh of the poor shall not perish forever.
19 Arise, Hashem; let not enosh (mankind) prevail; let the Goyim be judged in Thy sight.
20 Put them in terror, Hashem; that the Goyim may know themselves to be but enosh. Selah
