Psalms 70
70
Psalm 70#70:0 Psalm 70 is virtually identical in wording to Psalm 40:13–17.
For the choir director; by David; to be kept in mind.
1Come quickly to rescue me, O God!
Come quickly to help me, O Lord!
2Let those who seek my life
be confused and put to shame.
Let those who want my downfall
be turned back and disgraced.
3Let those who say, “Aha! Aha!”
be turned back because of their own shame.
4Let all who seek you rejoice and be glad because of you.
Let those who love your salvation continually say,
“God is great!”
5But I am oppressed and needy.
O God, come to me quickly.
You are my help and my savior.
O Lord, do not delay!

A Prayer for Deliverance from Enemies
For the music director. Of David. To bring to remembrance.#The Hebrew Bible counts the superscription as the first verse of the psalm; the English verse number is reduced by one
1O God, make haste to deliver me.
O Yahweh, make haste to help me.
2Let them be ashamed and abashed
who seek my life.
Let them be repulsed and humiliated
who desire my harm.
3let them turn back because of their shame,
those who say, “Aha! Aha!”
4Let them rejoice and be glad in you,
all those who seek you.
Let them say continually, “God is great!”
those who love your salvation.
5But I am poor and needy;
O God hasten to me.
You are my help and my deliverer.
O Yahweh, do not delay.
