Psalm 7
A shiggaion #7:0 Unknown musical term. by David; he sang it to the Lord about the ⌞slanderous⌟ words of Cush, a descendant of Benjamin.
1O Lord my God, I have taken refuge in you.
Save me, and rescue me from all who are pursuing me.
2Like a lion they will tear me to pieces
and drag me off with no one to rescue me.
3O Lord my God,
if I have done this—
if my hands are stained with injustice,
4if I have paid back my friend with evil
or rescued someone who has no reason to attack me—
5then let the enemy chase me and catch me.
Let him trample my life into the ground.
Let him lay my honor in the dust. Selah
6Arise in anger, O Lord.
Stand up against the fury of my attackers.
Wake up, my God.#7:6 Greek; Masoretic Text “Wake up to me.”
You have already pronounced judgment.
7Let an assembly of people gather around you.
Take your seat high above them.
8The Lord judges the people of the world.
Judge me, O Lord,
according to my righteousness,
according to my integrity.
9Let the evil within wicked people come to an end,
but make the righteous person secure,
O righteous God who examines thoughts and emotions.
10My shield is God above,
who saves those whose motives are decent.
11God is a fair judge,
a God who is angered by injustice every day.
12If a person does not change, God sharpens his sword.
By bending his bow, he makes it ready ⌞to shoot⌟.
13He prepares his deadly weapons
and turns them into flaming arrows.
14See how that person conceives evil,
is pregnant with harm,
and gives birth to lies.
15He digs a pit and shovels it out.
Then he falls into the hole that he made ⌞for others⌟.
16His mischief lands back on his own head.
His violence comes down on top of him.
17I will give thanks to the Lord for his righteousness.
I will make music to praise the name of the Lord Most High.

Psalms 7
7
A psalm#7:TITLE Hebrew A shiggaion, probably indicating a musical setting for the psalm. of David, which he sang to the Lord concerning Cush of the tribe of Benjamin.
1I come to you for protection, O Lord my God.
Save me from my persecutors—rescue me!
2If you don’t, they will maul me like a lion,
tearing me to pieces with no one to rescue me.
3O Lord my God, if I have done wrong
or am guilty of injustice,
4if I have betrayed a friend
or plundered my enemy without cause,
5then let my enemies capture me.
Let them trample me into the ground
and drag my honor in the dust. Interlude
6Arise, O Lord, in anger!
Stand up against the fury of my enemies!
Wake up, my God, and bring justice!
7Gather the nations before you.
Rule over them from on high.
8The Lord judges the nations.
Declare me righteous, O Lord,
for I am innocent, O Most High!
9End the evil of those who are wicked,
and defend the righteous.
For you look deep within the mind and heart,
O righteous God.
10God is my shield,
saving those whose hearts are true and right.
11God is an honest judge.
He is angry with the wicked every day.
12If a person does not repent,
God#7:12 Hebrew he. will sharpen his sword;
he will bend and string his bow.
13He will prepare his deadly weapons
and shoot his flaming arrows.
14The wicked conceive evil;
they are pregnant with trouble
and give birth to lies.
15They dig a deep pit to trap others,
then fall into it themselves.
16The trouble they make for others backfires on them.
The violence they plan falls on their own heads.
17I will thank the Lord because he is just;
I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.
