Psalms 65

Psalm 65
For the choir director; a psalm by David; a song.
1You are praised with silence in Zion, O God,
and vows ⌞made⌟ to you must be kept.
2You are the one who hears prayers.
Everyone will come to you.
3Various sins overwhelm me.
You are the one who forgives our rebellious acts.
4Blessed is the person you choose
and invite to live with you in your courtyards.
We will be filled with good food from your house,
from your holy temple.
5You answer us with awe-inspiring acts ⌞done⌟ in righteousness,
O God, our savior,
the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the most distant sea,
6the one who set the mountains in place with his strength,
the one who is clothed with power,
7the one who calms the roar of the seas,
their crashing waves,
and the uproar of the nations.
8Those who live at the ends of the earth are in awe of your miraculous signs.
The lands of the morning sunrise and evening sunset sing joyfully.
9You take care of the earth, and you water it.
You make it much richer than it was.
(The river of God is filled with water.)
You provide grain for them.
Indeed, you even prepare the ground.
10You drench plowed fields ⌞with rain⌟
and level their clumps of soil.
You soften them with showers
and bless what grows in them.
11You crown the year with your goodness,
and richness overflows wherever you are.
12The pastures in the desert overflow ⌞with richness⌟.
The hills are surrounded with joy.
13The pastures are covered with flocks.
The valleys are carpeted with grain.
All of them shout triumphantly. Indeed, they sing.

Psalms 65
65
Praise to God for His Salvation and Providence
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. A Song.
1Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion;
And to You the vow shall be performed.
2O You who hear prayer,
#(Is. 66:23)To You all flesh will come.
3Iniquities prevail against me;
As for our transgressions,
You will #Ps. 51:2; 79:9; Is. 6:7; (Heb. 9:14; 1 John 1:7, 9)provide atonement for them.
4#Ps. 33:12Blessed is the man You #Ps. 4:3choose,
And cause to approach You,
That he may dwell in Your courts.
#Ps. 36:8We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house,
Of Your holy temple.
5By awesome deeds in righteousness You will answer us,
O God of our salvation,
You who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth,
And of the far-off seas;
6Who established the mountains by His strength,
#Ps. 93:1Being clothed with power;
7#Matt. 8:26You who still the noise of the seas,
The noise of their waves,
#Is. 17:12, 13And the tumult of the peoples.
8They also who dwell in the farthest parts are afraid of Your signs;
You make the outgoings of the morning and evening rejoice.
9You visit the earth and #(Deut. 11:12); Jer. 5:24water it,
You greatly enrich it;
#Ps. 46:4; 104:13; 147:8The river of God is full of water;
You provide their grain,
For so You have prepared it.
10You water its ridges abundantly,
You settle its furrows;
You make it soft with showers,
You bless its growth.
11You crown the year with Your goodness,
And Your paths drip with abundance.
12They drop on the pastures of the wilderness,
And the little hills rejoice on every side.
13The pastures are clothed with flocks;
#Is. 44:23; 55:12The valleys also are covered with grain;
They shout for joy, they also sing.
