Psalms 3

Psalm 3
A psalm by David when he fled from his son Absalom.
1O Lord, look how my enemies have increased!
Many are attacking me.
2Many are saying about me,
“Even with God ⌞on his side⌟,
he won’t be victorious.” Selah
3But you, O Lord, are a shield that surrounds me.
You are my glory.
You hold my head high.
4I call aloud to the Lord,
and he answers me from his holy mountain. Selah
5I lie down and sleep.
I wake up again because the Lord continues to support me.
6I am not afraid of the tens of thousands
who have taken positions against me on all sides.
7Arise, O Lord!
Save me, O my God!
You have slapped all my enemies in the face.
You have smashed the teeth of wicked people.
8Victory belongs to the Lord!
May your blessing rest on your people. Selah

(A psalm of Dovid, when he fled from Avshalom bno)
1 Hashem, how are they increased that are my foes! Many are they that rise up against me.
2 Many there be which say of my nefesh, There is no yeshu'ah for him in Elohim. Selah
3 But Thou, Hashem, art a mogen around me; my kavod, and the One who lifts up mine head.
4 I cried unto Hashem with my voice, and He heard me out of His Har Kodesh. Selah
5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked, for Hashem sustains me.
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of am (people), that have set themselves against me round about.
7 Arise, Hashem; hoshieini (save me), O Elohai; for Thou hast struck all mine enemies upon the cheekbone; Thou hast broken the teeth of the resha'im.
8 HaYeshuah (salvation) belongeth unto Hashem; the Birkhat (blessing) of Thee is upon Thy people. Selah
