Psalms 24
24
Psalm 24
A psalm by David.
1The earth and everything it contains are the Lord’s.
The world and all who live in it are his.
2He laid its foundation on the seas
and set it firmly on the rivers.
3Who may go up the Lord’s mountain?
Who may stand in his holy place?
4 ⌞The one who⌟ has clean hands and a pure heart
and does not long for what is false
or lie when he is under oath.
5 ⌞This person⌟ will receive a blessing from the Lord
and righteousness from God, his savior.
6This is the person who seeks him,
who searches for the face of the God of Jacob.#24:6 A few Hebrew manuscripts, Greek, Syriac; Masoretic Text “your face, Jacob.” Selah
7Lift your heads, you gates.
Be lifted, you ancient doors,
so that the king of glory may come in.
8Who is this king of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty!
The Lord, heroic in battle!
9Lift your heads, you gates.
Be lifted, you ancient doors,
so that the king of glory may come in.
10Who, then, is this king of glory?
The Lord of Armies is the king of glory! Selah

Psalm 24
24
A Psalm of David.
1 THE EARTH is the Lord's, and the fullness of it, the world and they who dwell in it. [I Cor. 10:26.]
2 For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the currents and the rivers.
3 Who shall go up into the mountain of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His Holy Place?
4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted himself up to falsehood or to what is false, nor sworn deceitfully. [Matt. 5:8.]
5 He shall receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is the generation [description] of those who seek Him [who inquire of and for Him and of necessity require Him], who seek Your face, [O God of] Jacob. Selah [pause, and think of that]! [Ps. 42:1.]
7 Lift up your heads, O you gates; and be lifted up, you age-abiding doors, that the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O you gates; yes, lift them up, you age-abiding doors, that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is [He then] this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah [pause, and think of that]!
