Psalm 16
A miktam #16:0 Unknown musical term. by David.
1Protect me, O God, because I take refuge in you.
2I said to the Lord,
“You are my Lord. Without you, I have nothing good.”
3Those who lead holy lives on earth
are the noble ones who fill me with joy.
4Those who quickly chase after other gods multiply their sorrows.
I will not pour out their sacrificial offerings of blood
or use my lips to speak their names.
5The Lord is my inheritance and my cup.
You are the one who determines my destiny.
6Your boundary lines mark out pleasant places for me.
Indeed, my inheritance is something beautiful.
7I will praise the Lord, who advises me.
My conscience warns me at night.
8I always keep the Lord in front of me.
When he is by my side, I cannot be moved.
9That is why my heart is glad and my soul rejoices.
My body rests securely
10because you do not abandon my soul to the grave
or allow your holy one to decay.
11You make the path of life known to me.
Complete joy is in your presence.
Pleasures are by your side forever.

PSALM 16
Michtam of David.
1Preserve me, O ·God#GodHebrew: El for I trust in thee. 2Thou my soul hast said to Jehovah, Thou art the Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee; — 3To the saints that are on the earth, and to the excellent thou hast said, In them is all my delight. 4Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another: their drink-offerings of blood will I not offer, and I will not take up their names into my lips. 5Jehovah is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. 6The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. 7I will bless Jehovah, who giveth me counsel; even in the nights my reins instruct me.
8I have set Jehovah continually before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9Therefore my heart rejoiceth, and my glory exulteth; my flesh moreover shall dwell in hope. 10For thou wilt not leave my soul to Sheol, neither wilt thou allow thy Holy One to see corruption. 11Thou wilt make known to me the path of life: thy countenance is fulness of joy; at thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.
