Psalms 14
14
Psalm 14#14:0 Psalm 14 is virtually identical in wording to Psalm 53.
For the choir director; by David.
1Godless fools say in their hearts,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt.
They do disgusting things.
There is no one who does good things.
2The Lord looks down from heaven on Adam’s descendants
to see if there is anyone who acts wisely,
if there is anyone who seeks help from God.
3Everyone has turned away.
Together they have become rotten to the core.
No one, not even one person, does good things.
4Are all those troublemakers,
those who devour my people as if they were devouring food,
so ignorant that they do not call on the Lord?
5There they are—panic-stricken
because God is with the person who is righteous.
6They put the advice of oppressed people to shame
because the Lord is their refuge.
7If only salvation for Israel would come from Zion!
When the Lord restores the fortunes of his people,
Jacob will rejoice.
Israel will be glad.

Psalms 14
14
For the choir director: A psalm of David.
1Only fools say in their hearts,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and their actions are evil;
not one of them does good!
2The Lord looks down from heaven
on the entire human race;
he looks to see if anyone is truly wise,
if anyone seeks God.
3But no, all have turned away;
all have become corrupt.#14:3 Greek version reads have become useless. Compare Rom 3:12.
No one does good,
not a single one!
4Will those who do evil never learn?
They eat up my people like bread
and wouldn’t think of praying to the Lord.
5Terror will grip them,
for God is with those who obey him.
6The wicked frustrate the plans of the oppressed,
but the Lord will protect his people.
7Who will come from Mount Zion to rescue Israel?
When the Lord restores his people,
Jacob will shout with joy, and Israel will rejoice.
