Psalm 125
A song for going up to worship.
1Those who trust the Lord are like Mount Zion,
which can never be shaken.
It remains firm forever.
2 ⌞As⌟ the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds his people now and forever.
3A wicked ruler will not be allowed to govern
the land set aside for righteous people.
That is why righteous people do not use their power to do wrong.
4Do good, O Lord, to those who are good,
to those whose motives are decent.
5But when people become crooked,
the Lord will lead them away with troublemakers.
Let there be peace in Israel!

The Lord Surrounds His People
A Song of #[See Ps. 120, title]Ascents.
1Those who #Ps. 25:2, 3 trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,
which #Ps. 93:1; 104:5; [Prov. 10:30]cannot be moved, but abides forever.
2As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so #[2 Kgs. 6:17; Zech. 2:5]the Lord surrounds his people,
from this time forth and forevermore.
3For #Isa. 14:5 the scepter of wickedness shall not #Isa. 30:30 rest
on #See Ps. 16:5 the land allotted to the righteous,
lest the righteous #Gen. 3:22; Ex. 22:8stretch out
their hands to do wrong.
4 #
Ps. 119:68 Do good, O Lord, to those who are good,
and to those who are #See Ps. 7:10upright in their hearts!
5But those who #See Ps. 40:4 turn aside to their #Prov. 2:15 crooked ways
the Lord will lead away with #Ps. 92:7, 9; 94:4 evildoers!
