Psalms 108
108
Psalm 108#108:0 Verses 1–5 are virtually identical in wording to Psalm 57:7–11; verses 6–13 are virtually identical in wording to Psalm 60:5–12.
A song; a psalm by David.
1My heart is confident, O God.
I want to sing and make music even with my soul.#108:1 Or “my glory.”
2Wake up, harp and lyre!
I want to wake up at dawn.
3I want to give thanks to you among the people, O Lord.
I want to make music to praise you among the nations
4because your mercy is higher than the heavens.
Your truth reaches the skies.
5May you be honored above the heavens, O God.
Let your glory extend over the whole earth.
6Save ⌞us⌟ with your powerful hand, and answer us
so that those who are dear to you may be rescued.
7God has promised the following through his holiness:
“I will triumph!
I will divide Shechem.
I will measure the valley of Succoth.
8Gilead is mine.
Manasseh is mine.
Ephraim is the helmet on my head.
Judah is my scepter.
9Moab is my washtub.
I will throw my shoe over Edom.
I will shout in triumph over Philistia.”
10Who will bring me into the fortified city?
Who will lead me to Edom?
11Isn’t it you, O God, who rejected us?
Isn’t it you, O God, who refused to accompany our armies?
12Give us help against the enemy
because human assistance is worthless.
13With God we will display great strength.
He will trample our enemies.

Psalms 108
108
Psalm 108#In Hebrew texts 108:1-13 is numbered 108:2-14.
A song. A psalm of David.
1My heart, O God, is steadfast;
I will sing and make music with all my soul.
2Awake, harp and lyre!
I will awaken the dawn.
3I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples.
4For great is your love, higher than the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
5Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.
6Save us and help us with your right hand,
that those you love may be delivered.
7God has spoken from his sanctuary:
‘In triumph I will parcel out Shechem
and measure off the Valley of Sukkoth.
8Gilead is mine, Manasseh is mine;
Ephraim is my helmet,
Judah is my sceptre.
9Moab is my washbasin,
on Edom I toss my sandal;
over Philistia I shout in triumph.’
10Who will bring me to the fortified city?
Who will lead me to Edom?
11Is it not you, God, you who have rejected us
and no longer go out with our armies?
12Give us aid against the enemy,
for human help is worthless.
13With God we shall gain the victory,
and he will trample down our enemies.
