Uncooked Grain Offerings
1 ⌞The Lord continued,⌟ “Now, if any of you bring a grain offering to the Lord, your offering must be flour. Pour olive oil on it, and put incense on it. 2Then bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests. Take from this a handful of flour with olive oil, and all the incense. The priest will burn it on the altar as a reminder. It is an offering by fire, a soothing aroma to the Lord. 3The rest of the grain offering will belong to Aaron and his sons. It is very holy, set apart from the Lord’s offering by fire.
Cooked Grain Offerings
4“If you bring a grain offering which has been baked in an oven, it must be rings of unleavened bread made of flour mixed with olive oil or wafers of unleavened bread brushed with olive oil. 5If your grain offering is prepared in a frying pan, it, too, will be unleavened bread made of flour mixed with olive oil. 6Break it into pieces and pour olive oil over it. It is a grain offering. 7If your grain offering is prepared in a skillet, it will be made of flour with olive oil.
8“Bring the Lord the grain offering prepared in any of these ways. Offer it to the priest who will bring it to the altar. 9The priest will remove part of the grain offering and burn it as a reminder on the altar. It is an offering by fire, a soothing aroma to the Lord. 10The rest of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons. It is very holy, set apart from the Lord’s offering by fire.
Other Ingredients
11“Every grain offering that you bring to the Lord must be prepared without yeast. Never burn yeast or honey as an offering to the Lord. 12You may bring them to the Lord as offerings of your first products. But they must never be placed on the altar to make a soothing aroma. 13Also put salt on each of your grain offerings. The salt of God’s promise #2:13 Or “covenant.” must never be left out of your grain offerings. Put salt on all your offerings.
Offering the First Grain Harvested
14“If you bring a grain offering to the Lord from the first grain you harvest, roast the cracked grain over fire. 15Put olive oil on it, and place incense on it. It is a grain offering. 16The priest will burn the flour, olive oil, and all the incense as a reminder. It is an offering by fire to the Lord.”

The Grain Offering
1“When anyone presents a grain offering#Ex 40:29 as an offering to the Lord, it is to consist of fine flour.#Gn 18:6; Ex 29:2,40; Lv 2:1–7 He is to pour olive oil#Gn 28:18; 35:14 on it, put frankincense on it,#Ex 30:34 2and bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests. The priest will take a handful of fine flour and oil from it, along with all its frankincense, and will burn this memorial portion#Lv 2:9,16; 5:12; 6:8; 24:7; Nm 5:26; Ac 10:4 of it on the altar, a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the Lord. 3But the rest of the grain offering will belong to Aaron and his sons; it is the holiest part#Lv 14:13 of the food offerings to the Lord.
4“When you present a grain offering baked in an oven, it is to be made of fine flour, either unleavened cakes#Ex 29:2 mixed with oil or unleavened wafers#Ex 29:2,23; Lv 7:12; 8:26; Nm 6:15,19; 1Ch 23:29 coated with oil. 5If your offering is a grain offering prepared on a griddle,#Lv 6:14; 7:9; 1Ch 23:29; Ezk 4:3 it is to be unleavened bread#Ex 12:8; Mt 16:6,11–12; 1Co 5:6–8 made of fine flour mixed with oil. 6Break it into pieces and pour oil on it; it is a grain offering. 7If your offering is a grain offering prepared in a pan,#Lv 7:9 it is to be made of fine flour with oil. 8When you bring to the Lord the grain offering made in any of these ways, it is to be presented to the priest, and he will take it to the altar. 9The priest will remove the memorial portion#2:9 Lit portion of it from the grain offering and burn it on the altar, a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the Lord. 10But the rest of the grain offering will belong to Aaron and his sons;#Lv 7:9–10 it is the holiest part of the food offerings to the Lord.
11“No grain offering that you present to the Lord is to be made with yeast, for you are not to burn#2:11 Some Hb mss, Sam, LXX, Tg read present any yeast#Ex 12:14 or honey#Jdg 14:8 as a food offering to the Lord. 12You may present them to the Lord as an offering of firstfruits,#Gn 49:3; Ex 23:16,19 but they are not to be offered on the altar as a pleasing aroma. 13You are to season each of your grain offerings with salt; you must not omit from your grain offering the salt of the covenant#Ex 19:5; Nm 18:19; 2Ch 13:5 with your God. You are to present salt with each of your offerings.
14“If you present a grain offering of firstfruits to the Lord, you are to present fresh heads of grain, crushed kernels, roasted on the fire, for your grain offering of firstfruits. 15You are to put oil and frankincense on it; it is a grain offering. 16The priest will then burn some of its crushed kernels and oil with all its frankincense as a food offering to the Lord.
