# 1 Sam. 24:11; [Ps. 7:3; 69:4] For no transgression or sin of mine, O Lord,
4for no fault of mine, they run and make ready.
# See Ps. 35:23 Awake, come to meet me, and see!
5You, #Ps. 80:4; 84:8Lord God of hosts, are God of Israel.
Rouse yourself to punish all the nations;

6Each evening they #[Ps. 22:16]come back,
howling like dogs
and prowling about the city.
7There they are, #Prov. 15:2, 28; [Ps. 94:4] bellowing with their mouths
with #See Ps. 57:4 swords in their lips—
for #See Job 22:13“Who,” they think,#59:7 Hebrew lacks they think “will hear us?”
8But you, O Lord, #See Ps. 2:4laugh at them;

that they may #Ps. 83:18 know that God rules over Jacob
to #Ps. 22:27the ends of the earth. Selah
14 # [Ps. 22:16] Each evening they come back,
howling like dogs

15They #Ps. 109:10; Job 15:23wander about for food
and growl if they do not get their fill.
16But I will sing of your strength;
