Revelation 20

The Thousand Years
1Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, #See ch. 1:18 holding in his hand the key to #See ch. 9:1the bottomless pit#20:1 Greek the abyss; also verse 3 and a great chain. 2And he seized #See ch. 12:9 the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and #[2 Pet. 2:4; Jude 6]bound him for a thousand years, 3and threw him into #[See ver. 1 above] the pit, and shut it and #Dan. 6:17; [Matt. 27:66] sealed it over him, so that #ver. 8, 10he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while.
4Then I saw #Dan. 7:9; Matt. 19:28 thrones, and #ch. 3:21; Dan. 7:22 seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw #ch. 6:9 the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those #ch. 13:12, 14-16 who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. #[John 14:19; 2 Tim. 2:11] They came to life and #ver. 6; ch. 5:10; 22:5; Dan. 7:18; Matt. 20:21, 27; 2 Tim. 2:12; [Ps. 45:16]reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. 6#ch. 14:13 Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such #ver. 14; ch. 2:11; 21:8 the second death has no power, but they will be #See ch. 1:6 priests of God and of Christ, and they #ver. 4will reign with him for a thousand years.
The Defeat of Satan
7And when the thousand years are ended, #ver. 2Satan will be released from his prison 8and will come out #ver. 3, 10 to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, #Ezek. 38:2; 39:1 Gog and Magog, #See ch. 16:14to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. 9And #[Isa. 8:8; Ezek. 38:9, 16; Hab. 1:6] they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded #Heb. 13:11, 13 the camp of the saints and #[Ps. 132:13] the beloved city, but #See ch. 13:13fire came down from heaven#20:9 Some manuscripts from God, out of heaven, or out of heaven from God and consumed them, 10and the devil #ver. 3, 8 who had deceived them was #See ch. 19:20 thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where #See ch. 16:13the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Judgment Before the Great White Throne
11Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence #See Ps. 102:26 earth and sky fled away, and #ch. 12:8; Dan. 2:35no place was found for them. 12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and #Dan. 7:10 books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is #See ch. 3:5 the book of life. And #Rom. 14:10; 2 Cor. 5:10; See ch. 11:18 the dead were judged by what was written in the books, #See Matt. 16:27according to what they had done. 13And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, #ch. 6:8 Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, #[See ver. 12 above]according to what they had done. 14Then #[See ver. 13 above] Death and Hades #[ch. 21:4; Luke 20:36; 1 Cor. 15:26] were thrown into the lake of fire. This is #ver. 6the second death, the lake of fire. 15And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, #Matt. 13:42, 50he was thrown into the lake of fire.

20
1And I saw a messenger coming down from the heaven, having the key to the pit of the deep and a great chain in his hand.
2And he seized the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years,
3and he threw him into the pit of the deep, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should lead the nations no more astray until the thousand years were ended. And after that he has to be released for a little while.
4And I saw thrones – and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them – and the lives of those who had been beheaded because of the witness they bore to יהושע and because of the Word of Elohim, and who did not worship the beast, nor his image, and did not receive his mark upon their foreheads or upon their hands. And they lived and reigned with Messiah for a thousand years
5(and the rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended) – this is the first resurrection.
6Blessed and set-apart is the one having part in the first resurrection. The second death possesses no authority over these, but they shall be priests of Elohim and of Messiah, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
7And when the thousand years have ended, Satan shall be released from his prison,
8and he shall go out to lead the nations astray which are in the four corners of the earth, Goḡ and Maḡoḡ,#Eze. 38:2 to gather them together for battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea.
9And they came up over the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the set-apart ones and the beloved city. And fire came down from Elohim out of the heaven and consumed them.
10And the devil, who led them astray, was thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur where the beast and the false prophet are. And they shall be tortured day and night forever and ever.
11And I saw a great white throne and Him who was sitting on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, and no place was found for them.
12And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before the throne, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged from what was written in the books, according to their works.
13And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and She’ol gave up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
14And Death and She’ol were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death.#See Rev. 2:11; Rev. 20:6; Rev. 21:8
15And if anyone was not found written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
