How Great Are Your Works
A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath.
1 #
Ps. 147:1; [Ps. 71:22] It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
to sing praises to your name, #[Gen. 14:19, 20]O Most High;
2to declare your #See Ps. 36:5 steadfast love in #[Ps. 119:147, 148]the morning,
and your #See Ps. 36:5 faithfulness by #[Ps. 119:147, 148]night,
3to the music of #See Ps. 33:2the lute and #See Ps. 33:2the harp,
to the melody of #See Ps. 33:2the lyre.
4For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your #See Ps. 90:16 work;
at #Ps. 8:6the works of your hands I sing for joy.
5How #Ps. 111:2; Rev. 15:3 great are your works, O Lord!
Your #Ps. 40:5; 139:17 thoughts are very #[Rom. 11:33]; See Ps. 36:6deep!
6The stupid man cannot know;
the fool cannot understand this:
7that though #See Job 21:7 the wicked sprout like grass
and all #Ps. 94:4; 125:5evildoers flourish,
they are doomed to destruction forever;
8but you, O Lord, are #Ps. 93:4on high forever.
9For behold, your enemies, O Lord,
for behold, your enemies shall perish;
all evildoers shall be #See Ps. 68:1scattered.
10But you have exalted my #See Ps. 75:10; 1 Sam. 2:1 horn like that of #Num. 23:22 the wild ox;
you have #See Ps. 23:5poured over me#92:10 Compare Syriac; the meaning of the Hebrew is uncertain fresh oil.
11My #See Ps. 37:34; 54:7eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies;
my ears have heard the doom of my evil assailants.
12 #
Ps. 1:3; 52:8; 72:7; Prov. 11:28; [Num. 24:6; Isa. 61:3]; See Hos. 14:5-8 The righteous flourish like the palm tree
and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13They are planted in the house of the Lord;
they flourish in #Ps. 100:4; 116:19; 135:2the courts of our God.
14They still bear fruit in old age;
they are ever full of sap and green,
15 # [Ps. 58:11] to declare that the Lord is upright;
he is my #See Ps. 18:2 rock, and there is #See Job 34:10no unrighteousness in him.

Psalms 92
92
A Psalm. A song for the Sabbath day.
1 It is a good thing to give thanks to the LORD,
to sing praises to your name, Most High,
2 to proclaim your loving kindness in the morning,
and your faithfulness every night,
3 with the ten-stringed lute, with the harp,
and with the melody of the lyre.
4 For you, LORD, have made me glad through your work.
I will triumph in the works of your hands.
5 How great are your works, LORD!
Your thoughts are very deep.
6 A senseless man doesn’t know,
neither does a fool understand this:
7though the wicked spring up as the grass,
and all the evildoers flourish,
they will be destroyed forever.
8 But you, LORD, are on high forever more.
9 For behold, your enemies, LORD,
for behold, your enemies shall perish.
All the evildoers will be scattered.
10 But you have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox.
I am anointed with fresh oil.
11 My eye has also seen my enemies.
My ears have heard of the wicked enemies who rise up against me.
12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree.
He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13They are planted in the LORD’s house.
They will flourish in our God’s courts.
14 They will still produce fruit in old age.
They will be full of sap and green,
15 to show that the LORD is upright.
He is my rock,
and there is no unrighteousness in him.
