Psalm 90

Book Four
From Everlasting to Everlasting
A #Ps. 17, title; 55:1 Prayer of Moses, the #Deut. 33:1; Josh. 14:6; Ezra 3:2man of God.
1Lord, you have been our #See Ps. 71:3dwelling place#90:1 Some Hebrew manuscripts (compare Septuagint) our refuge
in all generations.
2 #
Prov. 8:25 Before the #[Deut. 33:15; Job 15:7] mountains were brought forth,
or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
# See Job 36:26 from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
3You return man to dust
and say, #Gen. 3:19 “Return, #Eccles. 12:7O children of man!”#90:3 Or of Adam
4For #2 Pet. 3:8 a thousand years in your sight
are but as #[Ps. 39:5] yesterday when it is past,
or as #Ex. 14:24; Judg. 7:19a watch in the night.
5You #Ps. 58:9 sweep them away as with a flood; they are like #See Job 20:8 a dream,
like #Ps. 37:2; 103:15; 2 Kgs. 19:26; Isa. 40:6-8; 1 Pet. 1:24grass that is renewed in the morning:
6in #See Job 4:20 the morning it flourishes and is renewed;
in the evening it #Job 14:2; [Ps. 92:7] fades and #James 1:11withers.
7For we are brought to an end by your anger;
by your wrath we are dismayed.
8You have #Jer. 16:17; Heb. 4:13 set our iniquities before you,
our #Ps. 19:12secret sins in the light of your presence.
9For all our days pass away under your wrath;
we bring our years to an end like a sigh.
10The years of our life are seventy,
or even by reason of strength eighty;
yet their span#90:10 Or pride is but toil and trouble;
they are soon gone, and we fly away.
11Who considers the power of your anger,
and your wrath according to the fear of you?

Ps. 39:4
So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom.
13 #
Ps. 6:4 Return, O Lord! #See Ps. 74:9, 10 How long?
Have #Ps. 106:45; 135:14; Ex. 32:12; Deut. 32:36; Judg. 2:18; Jonah 3:10; See Gen. 6:6pity on your servants!
14Satisfy us in the #See Ps. 46:5 morning with your steadfast love,
that we may #See Ps. 85:6rejoice and be glad all our days.
15Make us glad for as many days as you have #[Deut. 8:2]afflicted us,
and for as many years as we have seen evil.
16Let your #Ps. 77:12; 92:4; 95:9; Deut. 32:4; Hab. 3:2work be shown to your servants,
and your glorious power to their children.
17Let the #Ps. 27:4 favor#90:17 Or beauty of the Lord our God be upon us,
and establish #[Ps. 128:2]; [Isa. 26:12]the work of our hands upon us;
yes, establish the work of our hands!

Psalms 90
90
Get a Heart of Wisdom
1A prayer of Moses the man of God. My Lord, You have been our dwelling from generation to generation.
2Before the mountains were born, or You gave birth to the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God!
3You turn mankind back to dust, saying, “Return, children of Adam!”
4For a thousand years in Your sight are like a day just passing by, or like a watch in the night.
5You sweep them away in their sleep. In the morning they are like sprouting grass—
6in the morning it flourishes and springs up, by evening it withers and dries up.
7For we are consumed by Your anger and terrified by Your wrath.
8You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your presence.
9For all our days have passed away under Your wrath. We spent our years like a sigh.
10The span of our years is seventy —or with strength, eighty— yet at best they are trouble and sorrow. For they are soon gone, and we fly away.
11Who knows the power of Your anger? Your fury leads to awe of you.
12So teach us to number our days, so that we may get a heart of wisdom.
13Relent, Adonai! How long? Have compassion on Your servants.
14Satisfy us in the morning with Your love, so we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
15Gladden us for as many days as You have humbled us, as many years as we have seen misery.
16Let Your work appear to Your servants, and Your splendor on their children.
17Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us. Establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.
