I Will Sing of the Steadfast Love of the Lord

1 # Ps. 101:1 I will sing of #ver. 14, 24, 28, 33, 49; [Isa. 55:3] the steadfast love of the Lord, forever;
with my mouth I will make known your #ver. 5, 8, 24, 33, 49; Ps. 88:11; 119:90faithfulness to all generations.
2For I said, #[See ver. 1 above] “Steadfast love will be built up forever;
in the heavens #See Ps. 36:5 you will establish your #[See ver. 1 above]faithfulness.”
3You have said, “I have made #ver. 28, 34, 39 a covenant with my #ver. 19; 1 Kgs. 8:16; Isa. 42:1 chosen one;
I have #ver. 35, 49; Ps. 132:11; See 2 Sam. 7:8-16; 1 Chr. 17:7-14; Jer. 33:17-21sworn to David my servant:
4‘I will establish your #ver. 29, 36; John 12:34 offspring forever,
and build your #ver. 29, 36; [Isa. 9:7; Luke 1:32, 33]throne for all generations.’” Selah

8O Lord God of hosts,

9You rule the raging of the sea;

“I have #[Ps. 21:5] granted help to one who is #2 Sam. 17:10 mighty;
I have exalted one #See ver. 3chosen from the people.
20 # Cited Acts 13:22 I have found David, my servant;
with my holy oil I have #1 Sam. 16:13anointed him,
21so that my #Ps. 80:17hand shall be established with him;
my arm also shall strengthen him.
22The enemy shall not outwit him;
# [2 Sam. 7:10] the wicked shall not humble him.
23I will #[2 Sam. 7:9]; See Ps. 2:9crush his foes before him
and strike down those who hate him.
24My #ver. 1 faithfulness and my #ver. 1 steadfast love shall be with him,
and in my name shall his #ver. 17horn be exalted.
25I will set his hand on #See Ps. 72:8the sea
and his right hand on #See Ps. 72:8the rivers.
26He shall cry to me, ‘You are my #[2 Sam. 7:14] Father,
my God, and #[Ps. 18:2]the Rock of my salvation.’
27And I will make him the #Ex. 4:22; [Rom. 8:29; Col. 1:15, 18; Heb. 1:5] firstborn,
# Num. 24:7; [Rev. 19:16] the highest of the kings of the earth.
28My steadfast love I will keep for him forever,
and my #See ver. 3covenant will stand firm#89:28 Or will remain faithful for him.
29I will establish his #See ver. 4 offspring forever
and his #See ver. 4 throne as #See Job 14:12the days of the heavens.
30 # 2 Sam. 7:14; 1 Kgs. 2:4 If his children forsake my law
and do not walk according to my rules,#89:30 Or my just decrees
31if they violate my statutes
and do not keep my commandments,
32then I will punish their transgression with #See Job 9:34the rod
and their iniquity with stripes,
33but I will not remove from him my steadfast love
or be false to my faithfulness.
34I will not violate my #[See ver. 28 above]covenant
or alter the word that went forth from my lips.
35Once for all I have sworn #See Ps. 60:6 by my holiness;
I will not #[Heb. 6:18]lie to David.
36His #[See ver. 29 above] offspring shall endure forever,

37Like #[See ver. 36 above] the moon it shall be established forever,

38But now you have #See Ps. 44:9 cast off and rejected;
you are full of wrath against your #ver. 20, 51anointed.
39You have #Lam. 2:7 renounced #See ver. 3 the covenant with your servant;
you have #See Ps. 74:7 defiled his #Job 19:9crown in the dust.
40You have #See Ps. 80:12breached all his walls;
you have laid his strongholds in ruins.
41 # [See ver. 40 above] All who pass by plunder him;
he has become #[ver. 50]; See Ps. 44:13; 69:9, 19the scorn of his neighbors.
42You have exalted the right hand of his foes;
you have made all his enemies rejoice.
43You have also turned back the edge of his sword,
and you have not made him stand in battle.
44You have made his splendor to cease
and cast his throne to the ground.
45You have cut short #Ps. 102:23 the days of his youth;
