When Brothers Dwell in Unity
A Song of #[See Ps. 120, title]Ascents. Of David.
1Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when #[Gen. 13:8; Heb. 13:1]brothers dwell in unity!#133:1 Or dwell together
2It is like the precious #Ex. 30:25, 30 oil on #Ex. 29:7; Lev. 8:12 the head,
running down on the beard,
on the beard of Aaron,
running down on #Ex. 28:33; 39:24; [Ex. 28:32; 39:23; Job 30:18]the collar of his robes!
3It is like #Prov. 19:12; Mic. 5:7 the dew of #Deut. 3:9; 4:48 Hermon,
which falls on #See Ps. 48:1 the mountains of Zion!
For there the Lord #Lev. 25:21; Deut. 28:8; See Ps. 42:8has commanded the blessing,
life forevermore.

A song of David for going up to the Temple.
1Oh, how wonderful, how pleasing it is
when God’s people all come together as one#133:1 when … as one Or “when brothers live together in peace.”!
2It is like the sweet-smelling oil that is poured over the high priest’s#133:2 high priest’s Literally, “Aaron’s.” head,
that runs down his beard flowing over his robes.
3It is like a gentle rain#133:3 gentle rain Or “mist” or “snow.” The Hebrew can mean either “the oil is like the mist …” or “Aaron’s beard is like the snow ….” from Mount Hermon falling on Mount Zion.
It is there that the Lord has promised his blessing of eternal life.
